ciltalgarth
Hi all I went on a permission of mine this morning that is rabbit only permission (no lamping) but i arrived to see this little fella stalking a new born lamb on a hedge on the first field. I decided he needed dealing with and that i would call in and tell the farmer on the way home. The problem was i only had the 22 with me, i gave him a squeak and he flew in leaving the lamb were he was. I managed to get him in to about 50 yards close enough to but him to bed with the 22 no problem. I called in on the farmer on the way home and told him what i had come across and that i had made the decision to shoot him ,he was made up that i had shot it and asked would i have a look on some more of his land were he had lost several lambs to another fox. He also told me that i could take more if i came accross them on this land (now makeing this permission rabbit and fox permission). I also managed a few rabbits to.

ciltalgarth
THANKS for all your replies. I'm glad the farmer was OK with my on the spot decision. He said that he owed me one ,i told him just to spread the word to neighbouring farmer that he has a good pest controller. That's a good enough favour for me. Dave-G
Good for you mate - well done. It sounds like Mr Farmer is getting very relaxed with you which in the fullness of time may lead to lamping permission for more success on charlie fox.
