Hamish
Morning all. Can anyone recommend a friendly Gun shop in the South Yorkshire area that deals with Shotguns and Air Rifles? Euro guns closed and I'm not fussed on Y*rk Guns. Basically I'm on a quick trip back to the UK for Christmas and want to trade in a never used A410 for a 12g O/U, so I haven't got a lot of time to shop around. Thanks, Hamish

casts_by_fly
w.richards pocklington all day long for me Ordinarily I would agree with you, especially for services and gun smithing. But he asked for South Yorkshire area and wanted a place to find a 12ga used gun in an O/U of similar value to his 410 trade in. Pocklington is great, but they don't stock a ton of guns in the 200-400 bracket in an o/u. Their stock is online on their website so the OP can check and see if there is something interesting. J_Edwards
I'm in Doncaster, but I rarely use gun shops, as I buy my ammo from a local equestrian shop. Personally, I think that Kirklees Guns in Huddersfield is a good shop, but I found parking difficult, as it's in the city centre. Swillington Shooting Supplies near Leeds is good, with a fair bit of range. The Gun Room in Holme-Upon-Spalding-Moor was good, with very nice people, but I thought it was more shotgun-orientated, whereas I tend to prefer rifles. Shooter's World in Mexborough isn't bad. York Guns seemed to have a very expensive range, and seem to be more tailored to those wanting to spend thousands, rather than hundreds, but they probably have a market. I used to like Euroguns as a shop, but I didn't like the people. Someone I know bought £5000 worth of stuff, guns, clothing etc, and they didn't even give him a hand carrying it to his car. It's just not cricket. I didn't understand how they expected to make money with that sort of attitude, but there you go.
bullet1747
I use the same equestrian shop mate , as for euro guns I miss it
Hamish
Thank you for all the recommendations. I tried both Shooter World and Redbeck, but in the end I got a great deal from Kexby Fieldsports near Gainsborough. Not Yorkshire I know, but worth the trip. Great service and plenty of choice. Thanks, Hamish
