Guest Wilksy
Sorry if this has been asked before, what does everyone use to carry their birds from the field? I've not shot significant numbers yet for this to be a problem but forewarned is forearmed an' all that!

pigeon controller
We use carp sacks to cool them while we shoot and German ex army double strap kit bags to carry off the field. We use to fit eighty in a bag but now we stop at sixty.
Penelope
Royal Mail sacks. I use different colours too, pink for frozen ones used as decoys and grey ones for fresh shot. Wilts#Dave
Royal Mail sacks. I use different colours too, pink for frozen ones used as decoys and grey ones for fresh shot. Is it easy to get hold of these? We've got a grey one someone gave Dad years ago which is brilliant, 50/60 go in no bother and find them easy to carry! Could do with another couple ideally. Penelope
Go to the post office and ask, tell them that you have sold a few things on ebay and need something to bring them back to the PO in. I get as many as I want from work. If you have trouble, pm me with your address and I send you a couple.

I have used the old canvas post bags that the postmen used to deliver the letters with as a game bag , they lasted for years and when they got a bit ropey a mate of mine who was a post man used to swap my old one for one of the new ones the students were given that were employed just for the Christmas rush . I have still got one in the shed that I used last season . As the Pink bags , I have never seen them......touch wood but I have got some of the Grey ones with the metal rings on top and even with constant use they will out live me without a shadow of doubt . lakeside1000
I let them cool off then put them in a tesco carrier bag, you can get at least 4 in one bag which is twice as many as I normally shoot,

hawkeye
I use a carp sack to keep flies of on hot days but to carry from field i use army rug sacks they are round and just have one carry strap but you can fit 35 birds in each bag no problem always take at least 4 in the motor but they are not all used. mores the pity .. PS I found with the grey postal bags they didn't last long before the bird beaks started to tear holes in them..
