popa bear
Right guys fill me in I need a couple of decoys to put on my magnet.Don't tell me real birds are best I want something to put on the magnet till I down some real birds.I don't want to faff around with putting shot birds in the freezer (I would be outside with the dog if the memsaab caught me doing it).Anyway I've got half shells and turbo aero flappers noisey things but I am wondering if these foam wing sets are any good or are they going to fold up in the wind? or do I have any alternatives any ideas cheers

Redditch
They tend to fold up in the wind, but if you cut a wire coat hanger to length, and slot that through the body and then through the wings (don't forget to paint the wire), that stops that. For the rest they work reasonably well, and will get a birds interest, IF IT,S HUNGRY
Bobba
Make your own. Far more fun and rewarding. A full body decoy, Jack pyke wing set ( repaint them as their colours are nothing like the real thing) and a wing spreader cable tied to the decoy with the thumb screw to the rear to mount on the rotary. Once you have shot pigeons for the rotary the decoys can then double as a bouncer or an Angel.

lakeside1000
Ive had a pair of full bodied decoys with foam wings and tails for some time, Ive used them on several occasions with very little success , I have tried repainting them with more realistic colours including using the special white ultra violet paint for necks and wings but it has not made any difference, the only time I get them out now is if I dont have any dead birds, but they are taken in as soon as I get the real thing, at least I can still use the decoys without the wings and tails which are removable,
wabbit warren
ive got a set of foam winged full bodied decoys and also a pair of silosoc flappers the flappers are better than the foam wings on a magnet i think but none work as well as dead birds sorry you didnt want to hear that bit did you

hawkfanz
ive found that they work well with crows when theres a wind blowing to keep em moving, but not so good on pigeons.
hushpower
Hypa Flaps are the bees knees often leave them on all day and don't put real birds on ,plus they rotate higher up in standing corn.No where near has heavy as dead birds plus your battery lasts longer,a good thing if you have to carry batterys any distance.Till corns been cut
hawkeye
Hype flaps for me if i use the magnet, but if there is a decent wind i stick to a couple of floaters

Uncle Albert
I was out last year on a field with a couple of floaters with foam wings. The pattern was working well but all of a sudden a buzzard came swooping in and snatched a wing and flew off into the trees. Damn thing didn't drop it either. One hopes it gave him digestive problems later as I couldn't find the wing. I know they work though.
