fenboy
Apparently its not going to be so glorious,a poor breeding season means a lot of shoots have been cancelled At least that is what I read somewhere.

shoot and be safe
I'll be in Scotland & heading to the Highlands on the 12th, Does that count?
Pothunter
I think I'll wait a couple more weeks and spend the vast sums thus saved on a whole season's duck and pheasant shooting.
Scully
Plenty of lads gearing up for the beating and picking up etc around here, but it's not really of much interest to me so haven't heard how things are expected to go. A few lads I know will be up Wemmergill shortly, as usual, but haven't seen them for a while, and a 'keeper who has been around here since leaving school has now moved to Scotland so have no info' really. I'm assuming the big hotel in town will be bracing itself ('bracing', see what I did there? Never mind ) for the start; I know my daughter isn't looking forward to it as it means late shifts for her. ben0850
Our moor don't shoot the twelfth as a rule, talking to the keeper who's beat covers our part I think they are considering cancelling most if not all of the days.. The warm weather in early spring encouraged the grouse to lay up in more exposed areas than they may usually do, then the cold wet May weather at hatch time followed by the naff summer as Sako says hasn't been good at all. Blackpowder
Unfortunately His Grace has informed me that due to the cold spring decimating chicks there shall be no driven grouse shooting on his extensive moors this year. I am gutted. Blackpowder
