Gin steady shooter
Not on your list; but I too would suggest a Beretta a300 xtreme, about £600 cheaper than a a400 extreme. I've used mine on clays, geese, rough shooting and even pheasants last year with good results. Only time it jammed was due to a dirty rail / slide action. Even cycled 65mm game carts! Cawdor118
Do you think it's worth getting a 3 1/2" Maxus or one of the 3" ones? I have been offered a A400 + a Xtrema 2 is up for sale... What route on that one?

bootsie
Hi Beretta for me i use a AL390 Lioness never missed a beat.
Bass301gmh
I've got the A400 and its gr8. However, the gun that's impressed me over the last 12 months is my mates A612.
Cawdor118
Thought I had a Extrema 2 within my sights... Turns out the woman selling it won't RFD it. A 15+ hour round drive doesn't float my boat!
littlerob
I bought a baikal mp153 of here its absolutely fault less 3.5 inch chambered it don't miss a beat from 28g hull compX 65mm to 42g gamebore mammoth steel 3.5inch. Only have two down sides the swivel studs get caught in my hide the other I find it to long in the hide for me 28inch barrel plus extended choke. But for a cheap gun I'm blown away by it and find it better than the Beretta urika I had as that did not like 65mm/67mm cartridges in 28g

clanchief
Just ordered another a400 Xtreme Action Optifade, this will sit with my A400 Action Xplor Light which is superb, may have to get rid of a new Silver Pigeon that has only had 400 shells through it as I need the room, shame as I had the stock altered so it has an adjustable comb. hindhunter
hi all, reading this topic with interest, I currently have a benelli super black eagle and it has been letting me down a bit recently and I don't shoot well with it but it's a camo 8-shot which is what I would still like to have, do any of the autos here take more than 3 shots?? clanchief
Yes, in theory look on U tube for ghost loading a Beretta. Chiefy
B25Modelman
I think the Browning Maxus takes 5.
clanchief
Yeah if you take the plug out and have a FAC, this ghost loading is how by leaving the plug in the mag tube restricted to two by law here and in most US States. Cawdor118
I'm still struggling to find a 26" Xtrema 2.... hens teeth!!!!
browning123
I have the Beretta XPLOR light field 28" and love it. Use it for corvids, pigeon, and wildfowling, and it's had 15-20,000 rounds through it now, and still going strong Wouldn't trade it in, even though I got a good offer on it LOL I've also got a A400 Xplor Light field 26" and I love the gun........takes any 12g cartridge and never jams, lovely balance and shoots a dream! motty
I'm still struggling to find a 26" Xtrema 2.... hens teeth!!!! You could stop looking and just get a 28" barrelled Xtrema.
Cawdor118
You could stop looking and just get a 28" barrelled Xtrema. I could... But that would be settling for second best!
Bansk65
Franchi Affinity !!!! Defo, made on the same production line as the Benneli M2 and cheaper and with a 7 year warranty, pick mine up tomorrow.
motty
Fair enough, but I don't understand - you have a 30" DT10. I could... But that would be settling for second best!
Cawdor118
Fair enough, but I don't understand - you have a 30" DT10. I have done the measurements against my guns to the beretta specifications and as far as the factory to my guns fair 26" semi is equivalent to 30" OU 28" semi is equivalent to 32" OU
Cawdor118
I have been offered a 26" A400 Xtreme.. Hope this is the right choice. The only issue I have heard with them is not cycling 3 1/2 cartridges too well.
