Our washing machine has died,

It's stopped pumping the water out, it was a couple of years old when we inherited it from the deceased outlaws, and about 6 or 8 years in our possession so probably not worth repairing

Anyways, I've said I'll have a look and see what's on offer in Currys,

My Missus, not to be outdone announced that's she's going to try AOL.COM

I just can't wait to see how that. Conversation goes 😃😃😃😃😃

2 year old and not pumping water out is probably something blocking the pump. Small job to clear.

Hi, thanks for the input

I think you might have misread my OP,

It was a couple of years old when we inherited it from the wife's deceased parents, and we've had it for 6 maybe 8 years.

Bra wires play havoc with outlet pumps

Had this one twice. How the hell does a length of wire like that get out of the drum through one of those holes in the drum and then finds its way into the pump. Other things included a tea spoon. it was an easy job just to take the rubber pipe off of the pump and outlet. If it is a simple obstruction it will be in the pipe from the outer drum housing to the pump impeller. The pump hasn't got a load of power because it doesn't need it and it is easily stopped by something. If you get on it first thing and it is something beyond a blockage then you got all day to source another.

Fair enough but I would still check the pump and hose before I bought a new one. Very easily blocked and as easily cleared. Mine is 7 year old and has been blocked twice and cleared, hopefully will get a couple more years out of it.
