good ole' George.

had a long and in depth discussion with him about this while sat in my front garden (he's my local MP)

he's from a farming background and really knows his stuff. its nice to have a local MP that understands what shooting is, and what it means to the local populace.

So theres 60% more lead in bear and most other food stuffs we eat . And MPs backing us so ....

Why are we not reading about this on the bbc webiste ?

Dont get me wrong its great news for us as shooters

But.... this is to be fare quite a big win for us . So why no coverage on media/news

Sometimes buffoonery can be a good thing.

It certainly seems to have helped us here, which makes it all the more satisfying. I loved the post about John Swift having run a cloak and dagger inside job - now that would have been really funny if it were true.

It's a great outcome as it has (apparently) led not only to the discrediting of the argument itself, but has also shown up those people and organisations involved as being vexatious and incompetent, which wont harm our cause any.

Quite agree....the last info' the general public received regarding this issue via the BBC was inaccurate and biased against shooting. Without a retraction or info' to the contrary that same general public will still believe that inaccurate and biased info' to be true.

Just playing devil's advocate; Although I agree, maybe it is better that this issue has not drawn further attention from the press. More publicity would add fuel to the anti's fire, or at least bring the issue to the forefront of Joe Public's mind. It's worth remembering that whilst LAG has been a complete farce, if I were the DEFRA chief I would still want answers to the questions LAG was set up to investigate.

That said, if BASC or anyone fully utilised the LAG's failure and it became national news/showed the anti's for what they are and made a small scandal out of it I would be delighted. Should "LAG round 2" ever get off the ground then I hope our shooting organisations are much much more pro active and vocal on the pseudo science used to fit an anti-shooting agenda. You might remember Scully I have talked with BASC (of whom I am a member) a few times about this and I am yet to receive a satisfactory answer that doesn't just say "we have released a statement on our website".

I think the story that the press would lead with would be more around how taxpayers money was squandered in establishing an 'independent and expert led' advisory group that was a resounding failure. If looked at in a particular way yet again it screams incompetence by Whitehall.
