Vince Green
There is and has been has been distinctions between the genuine refugees fleeing war from places such as Syria and Iraq and economic migrants from Pakisatan, Nth Africa and other countries. For me we should be acting with France, Germany and Uncle Sam to help the genuine refugees from war zones. And sending the others back. Of course that is the simplistic answer as many of those we would send back won't tell us where they came from. So where do you send them to? No country will willingly accept them unless their identity can be established beyond doubt. Once you have sorted the true refugees from the others there is a massive problem as to what to do with the others. That is the dilemma that the EU cannot solve. And Uncle Sam seems unwilling to help. That sounds like a pretty sensible proposal to me. Nobody goes anywhere till they are photographed, fingerprinted and DNA taken would definitely be a good start. At least that way they would be on a database. I suspect a lot of them would be put off by that but not the genuine refugees.

Well before this current crisis the UK government were contemplating renting land in places such as Morocco and Tunisia to build camps where the Afghanis who were coming over in lorries could be taken and kept until they agreed to go back. fortune
I went to turkey the other year and it was a terrible place. I actually PAID to go there on holiday What a dangerous dump it was. And I went to mykonos in Greece, another dump full of lunatics and dangerous places.A right hell hole.BUT my ultimate destination was ENGLAND.I heard on the bbc radio that every day thousands of migrants are arriving at the camps and that there are fleets of taxis bringing them. And that they are catering lunch for ten thousand. Do you think that it might be used as a challenge on master chief. I also used a taxi from the hovel of a hotel to the airport. It was so dangerous out there that I felt this burning urge to get back to England This maybe coming to a town center near you soon https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.abc.net.au/news/image/7137848-3x2-940x627.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-03/drone-vision-shows-ruins-of-homs-syria/7137426&h=627&w=940&tbnid=3NET_QIXCCLEGM:&docid=OdZnR8yF1g5FGM&hl=en&ei=EP_VVu7KO4XX-QHy_IHQBg&tbm=isch&ved=0ahUKEwjukoOaraDLAhWFaz4KHXJ-AGo4ZBAzCE4oSzBL All of those young men ought to be back there fighting for their country or their idea of what it should be not dossing out trying to get here. The refugee answer is simple (assuming you don't want to just turf them back out to sea) Put them in a camp with bare minimum of rations, just enough to support life. The one's that can provide paperwork can be processed, the ones that can't either stay in the camp or return to where they came from (their choice) Camp should be unheated, minimum plain food rations with plain water, sleep on the floor, no luxuries at all, all personal items removed on entry. Gordon R
I am no apologist for terrorism, having experienced bit. Your remarks are pretty offensive buddy and uncalled for. I find your simplistic ramblings offensive. Perhaps you could enlighten us on your terrorism experience - albeit a little bit. As for the remarks being uncalled for, I think they are. Can you tell me what percentage of the would be immigrants are economic, fleeing from a war zone or just plain terrorists? You can't, but their actions in France, Germany, Sweden and the UK suggest they are not upstanding citizens.
ordnance
Fair enough. But they arn't. So would you send them back? I am talking about the refugees, not the economic migrants? Because sending families back to ISIS really is not an option. Or may be it is. I would say set up safe areas in their own countries, or keep them in camps neer their own countries until they can return home. Or give temporary asylum and then send them home when its safe. Others, like rodp, poontang etc... I may disagree with but I more than happy to listen to their views and fight my corner. But your direct suggestion that I am an apologist for terrorism is a disgrace. And i will be sharing nothing with you regarding my own life. So good luck to you my friend. Sorry, but I don't get that. I accept that SA is not helping the situation in the Middle East, but surely the power vacuum that ISIS are filling was caused by Dubbya and Bliar leading us into a 'just' war that was not resolved and no real attempt was made to restore peace and justice to the lands we had invaded? Or am I missing something?
Bazooka Joe
Sorry, nothing to do with me, I don't owe any of them anything and don't want anything to do with them. Turn the dinghy's round before they reach the shore and tow them back out to sea, that way they'll soon stop coming. Wasn't it Australia that did the same, I maybe wrong, but whoever it was they got the message. All this must strengthen the resolve for the out vote. They tried to turn the boats around and refused to pick up those who deliberately threw themselves into the sea in order to try and force their hands. Those who did make it to Australia or Australian boats were taken to an internment camp on Papua New Guinea where the natives ate them. BrowningB525
Thats because the really needy ones are still in the refugee camps on the Syrian border. They haven't got the money to pay the people trafficers. The ones that can make it to Calais almost always are the fittest and the fastest and for the most part aren't Syrian. Which is why the government is only taking refugees/migrants from the camps nit Calais.
Muddy Funker
No, you're wrong, HERE'S the thing If you want to invite a few over to live with you, and YOU support them in housing, feeding, clothing, medical etc, etc then feel free. BUT, for heavens sake stop telling ME what I should do. I'll tell YOU how it really is, I DON'T CARE, IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM !! Never was and never will be !! OK, got it ? Stop telling others what they should be doing. If being a do gooder makes you feel all warm and cuddly then carry on, but please, do it at your own expense and don't involve us. We, the general public, have done nothing what so ever to make this our problem so most of us don't feel guilty in the slightest, not even a tiny little bit Rant over I agree completely
Clint1
It is interesting to see the tides of sympathy ebbing and flowing one way then the other after some news-worthy event, be it children being drowned or some new terrorist atrocity. I would imagine like me this is not the only forum PW-ers participate in. This forum doesn't let you use certain words but the sentiments/comments can be very very harsh (as long as you don't swear). On some other forums you can use whatever words you want but there is much condemnation of fascist views, racism, sexism ism ism et al. Strange world isn't it (compared to what, I don't know lol) Also I feel we have a very narrow view of world events in this country. Our media enjoy control and manipulation a little too much. Our news is a 'TV Show' with all that accompanies a good entertainment slot. Skateboarding dogs and fat schoolkids make better tv than far away murder and mayhem. Which is why I watch Al-Jazeera and RT with a bit of Sunrise thrown in for light relief.
