Jay_Russell
Well after trying dozens of guns I finally found one that felt comfortable and of course a decent fit. Some confusion in the shop over which model it actually is. What ever it is its 2004 sold to me as a b425 but another says it's the browning Elite, engraving is pheasants one side, duck the other and woodcock underneath. regardless I'm happy with it, within my budget and fits well! paulnix
Very nice gun, am no expert but 425's had several grades from grade 1, through Elite, Prestige and one other, maybe Ultimate ? Looks to me it could be a 425 hunter, which is possibly a Elite finish, def not a grade 1 as those are quite plain, but no matter what model it is is a great looking gun which will serve you well. Glenlivet
I had a Browning 425g1 and it was nothing like as nice as yours. Enjoy!

Jay_Russell
Thanks again guys, I was determined not to buy a gun on looks, or certainly not swayed by it. Having had guns that 'nearly fitted' and found myself adjusting to each gun I'm pleased this one fitted so well without stock work. Dine some dry mounts in front of a mirror and comes up perfect everytime. Stock is slightly to long but I shall have the aftermarket recoil pad removed which will make it the perfect lop for me. B25Modelman
I have been through all my catalogues from 2004 to 2007 which list 425 and 525 models and can only find that engraving on a 525. The chequering on the pistol grip is foxing me because they all, 425/525, show it slightly different and non have that butt cap.
Daveo26
Iv got a 525 that looks very similar to that, but yours has nicer wood Looks an absolute belter mate, Multi choke?

Big Al
I owned a B525 with that engraving. Is it 3 inch steel shot proofed? (mine was)
Jay_Russell
Yes big Al but invector chokes not invector plus like the 525's. I found some reference to a 'Browning Elite game' which sounds exactly what I have. If you scroll through the link below of second hand gun ideas and price guide you will see it listed seperate to a b525 http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/buy-gun-guide/secondhand-rounders-37293 Edited April 20, 2016 by Jay_Russell

It was a 2005 model. The only difference between my gun and yours is where yours says "Browning", mine says "B525 ". I'd say it's a B525, but I suppose it doesn't really matter. It's a cracking gun that should serve you well for many years. Health to enjoy.
B25Modelman
The 425 had both Invector standard and plus fitted in 1997/8 and possibly earlier (I don't have 1995/6 catalogue). Also the stocks grip chequering on this gun appears more common on models from that period. Maybe we should term it a B475...
