Schmitty
Just applied for my first FAC and have been asked to walk the land with the FEO to get it signed off for the calibres appiled for (it hasn't been signed off before).. I'm expecting to be asked shooting positions, show safe backstops, highlight any public footpaths, roads etc.... Anything else I need to be thinking about? I know its a good idea but do I definitely need a map?
Zapp
It depends on what your land is like. My main area is pretty flat, meaning it is quite restrictive for centrefire so to save a load of explaining I took a google earth screenshot of the land with proposed safe/non safe angles of fire annotated for my .243 application. It worked well.

Schmitty
Good advice re. the google map. The land is about 400 acres so could I get the detail required on 1 A4 sheet or would you recommend breaking it down onto say 4 (or more) sheets of A4? Dave-G
Bear in mind part of the walkies will be about weighing you up as well as the land.
Pigeon Shredder.
Try the DEFRA Magic Map's site, they give you all the detail on one page, footpaths, byways, name of farm etc, they are the one's I always use and have impressed the FEO. The Heron
The only thing you need to think about is the same for every shooter BACK STOP.

Exactly this, total waste of time. Like firearms licensing in general.
