Lampwick
Any thoughts on the Yukon Photon XT 6.5X50 Digital Rifle Scope? I'm keen on getting night vision for my FAC air rifle and Internet reviews look quite good! Cheers

Rst1990
I'm also thinking of purchasing the above, but I've heard of issues with some scopes losing zero all the time.
Rst1990
'Issues' are nearly always PMITO as warranty returns expose Sorry but what pmito? Thanks
mick miller
Yeah, ditto. Anacronyms that no one understands are a PITA.

Dave-G
I'd suggest the original Photon might be better suited to an air gun user - but given you have an FAC you might want to be fitting it to something rangier at some future date. I've heard about quite a few zero retention issues with the newer ones.
keg
FUBAR BNDY is used by my mate who is a Vet. Operator issues or finger trouble...
snarepeg
Have the 6.5 x 50. No problems at all. Have just changed the lens for a camera one, A Carl ziese 2.8x 50 and it's better still. Check out night vision forum for this modification.
Lampwick
By the way, what is it like using it during daylight?
Donegalcharlie
Wouldn't mind going down this road as well but I'd be sickend to pay out that sorta money and it be for nothing! If you do go down this road are you better of getting a thermal spotter as well or does the night sight just do grand on its own?
kennett
Obviously you can use the nv to spot, but it uses up battery and means you have to swing a heavy, loaded rifle all over the shop. I have used some of the pulsar thermal and it is the dogs doodahs!! But a bit pricey, and since my livelihood doesn't depend on me shooting foxes I can't really justify it! So if you did buy you would need a spotter for all of the above reasons. How much would it roughly cost for that set up £800-£1200?? That's were id be the same as you an couldn't justify it but know I'll end up doing it anyway.. berthaboo
I'm also thinking of purchasing the above, but I've heard of issues with some scopes losing zero all the time. I belive the lost of zero is due to it not being save or something along them lines. I have a friend who had one of these or the model below and I am sure I remember him saying something along them lines.

masmiffy
Mate went and bought digital night scope for the 223 spent £1400. we have used it max 3 times in 12 months prob shot 6 out of 90 foxes using it. Most nights it's the 243 and a good old fashioned lamp. To me a complete waste of cash! One other thought how do people find their foxes in the first place without a lamp anyway? Lamp field, spot fox, lamp off, night vision and shoot it.
masmiffy
Even more outlay on fancy equipment. Shot hundreds of foxes using lamp and gun will most likely shoot hundreds more. £1400 is a fair few rounds for the 223 of
masmiffy
Easy. Lamp field, spot fox, lamp off, night vision and shoot it. Still using a lamp then! We are out a good few nights and never see another lamp not even a flash of one
Footu
i use one for shooting rabbits, its great if they have become lamp shy. im thinking of adding a dvr cam but the yukon one looks way too pricey for what it is http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/portable-420-tvl-micro-dvr-spy-camera-with-25-inch-lcd-screen-n59lh I wonder if you can just use a 3mm jack to plug this in instead?
