four-wheel-drive
I always wanted one of them but for what it would get used I just could not justify getting one if I had a bit of land then I would have one in a flash they are so much better for going off road beat any land rover as they are so light they do not sink into the mud. rimfire4969
I had a play tonight, selectable 4wd and diff lock. Myself and the farmer went for a play where they had just picked the caulis very deep mud no problem, did not even lock the diffs.

four-wheel-drive
It always makes me laugh when you look on youtube at the off roading there are people with big four wheel drive trucks with lifted springs expensive locking diffs etc etc then some guy comes along with something like what you have and it just performs so much better for a fraction of the cost I still love big 4x4s but it does make you think. Scully
We don't own one but have the use of one on rough shoot. Ours is more of a cow **** brown in colour and isn't road legal. 😊

Delwint
Did you look at others, Polaris, kubota, jcb? Or did you only look at the John Deere. Just wondering if there was any overriding factors if so that made you choose it. Walked down the lane and back with all my nets poles etc Sunday and I'm still feeling it in my knees now. So I'm in the market for one Thanks delwint

So I'm in the market for one Thanks delwint I looked at a few and spoke a farmer friend who has one and also 3 keepers where I beat they also have john deere gators. Best description I was given is the JD has the built quality of a merc and some of the others have a built quality of a Lada. The back up service from my local JD dealer is also extremely good. Delwint
Thanks for that, what speed does it go? Are there different engines as with the Polaris. I seem to think I've read somewhere they do around 25 mph, whereas the Polaris is around 50 mph with the bigger engine. Not that I want to scream around the land but when I'm driving to the fields 25mph would be dawdling Atb Delwint
four-wheel-drive
Just a thought abut the speed that they go as they are regarded as primarily agricultural vehicles for off road use I do not think that the crash protection rules that apply to cars and trucks apply to them. With a top speed of 25mph I can see that this protection would not be needed but if you get up to 50mph+ it could well be an issue going on the road with little protection from a car crashing into you would it be safe to use at higher speeds on the road I have no idea what the law says I'm just asking. I should add that going at 25mph you could still have cars trucks crash into you on the road but as you would be going so slow it would give drivers more time to stop or avoid you than if you was going at 50mph+.
