Decathalon - too good to be true?

Recommended Posts

Update on this after speaking to the manager in my local store who contacted head office.

All cartridges online can be ordered and you can pick them up at your local store FOC or pay the shipping costs as per the delivery instructions.

The £32.99 Mary Arm are currently out of stock and when they become available they will update their webpage.

They hope to have the full range available very soon as they have been astounded by the interest.

I often buy ammo from Decathlon stores in France.

The last time was in August all i have to do is show my EFP to the person incharge of the ammo who unlocks the storage area .I then take what I want be it 12b slugs or rifle ammo and pay at the counter with the rest of my stuff.

Indeed, an EFP can be used- but not all Decathlon personnel are au fait with the legal position of this.

Most of my Frenchie shooting buddies had never heard of an EFP and for some experimentation I tried using my SGC, FAC and EFP at two different stores in the South of France and was told 'non'

But for me I have an FFTIR licence anyway :-)

So, its patchy and I think most on here reference the use of their SGC?

But, as you have discovered- lovely when they open that cabinet to be able to buy as much of whatever you need and such a choice of slugs.

My local armourie ( shop) has an amazing selection including rubber ball ( solid and multi pellet), at least 8 diff types of slug design and in .410 too.

Oh how I miss it all being back in Blighty- fortunately I still have the house and am popping back in a few weeks.

Edit due to being up too early and still awake and not checking my spelink :-)

Yes, I had a similar experience in a Terre et Eaux store in Amiens, they weren't convinced by an EFP, I had also to show my FFBT membership card, then it was "D'accord, pas de probleme..!"

To be honest, the only real bargains I've noticed recently are the 28g Steel load in 7.5 plaswad, which works out at about £165 / thou, a tad cheaper than UK prices, I will probably call in at Terre et Eaux in Calais and pick up some when I'm next there in mid May.

Worth a look if you can understand the Froggy Lingo..?

According to the boys on shootclay who have placed orders this week , their orders have been cancelled by decathlon . And the cartridges will be removed from the website asap.

Jasper.

hello, i see that has been done, could not we send a petition to Decathlon and ask they consider stocking, ???? they sell a range of shooting gear from deeks to cartridge boxes.

Decathlon is a fabulous store with great gear, covering a lot of sports at great prices, BUT, their website is garbage, always has been and always will be - It's set up to be a worldwide tool and it just doesn't function.

I've had a ton of moans in their Thurrock and Canada Water stores and the staff all agree, but nobody there appears to have the power to do anything about it.

Having said all that, this year has gone mental in their Thurrock store with hunting stuff a plenty - mostly clothes, but cartridge holders and belts, knives, binos etc
