hatsanmad
Hi guys the last day or two my 9 week old pup has got what i assume bad guts flatchulents and the runs she has been really firm till now. Her behaviour hasnt changed she is still a very happy pup. With a good appetite. Her diet has changed she is on the same food the breeder had her on. I have tryed her with boiled rice but she wont touch it. Is there anything i could try? I am also giving her boiled water aswell. I know it could be something of nothing but i would rather check and ask
Stonepark
How long has it been away from its mother? ...... my inclination if it has not started to firm up by tomorrow would be have a chat with your vet asap just in case she has picked up salmonella or similar as pups can dehydrate very quickly at that age. If she is eating and drinking normally, hopefully it is nothing serious.
hatsanmad
Yes eating drinking as normal. She has been away from mum 2 weeks today mate.

Mice!
Your not giving her milk are you? Try giving her a Weetabix with warm water, she may just have eaten something in the garden, but as said above if she is still the same tomorrow i would get to the vets, pups can go down hill really fast

greenergp
We just got a pup recently and we fed it on dry food and it had the runs with puddles of **** all the time but we changed its diet to pasta and boiled chicken and that worked, it now get pasta and the small food sachets in jelly from the co-op, and she is doing fine. scotslad
I'd probably jst take it in to vets, might give it some of the bacteria/yogarty stuff to help the guts. When's the 2nd jab due?

Never feed dog cows milk as a high proportion are intolerant and it causes the runs and gi upset.

washerboy
Get some chicken and boil it in a pan until the meat falls off the bones, add this to plain white cooked rice. Also worth a try is a small amount of plain cottage cheese. Your not giving her milk are you? Try giving her a Weetabix with warm water, she may just have eaten something in the garden, but as said above if she is still the same tomorrow i would get to the vets, pups can go down hill really fastWeetabix could make it worse, last thing I would give a dog with a bad stomach is grain .Small amount of plain white rice but tiny amounts to start with Edited May 20, 2017 by washerboy
GingerCat
Big fan of chicken and boiled rice. So is the dog. If it still there after 3 days I'd pop to the vets.

hatsanmad
Hi guys only just managed to get back on. Pup is firming up a bit now. I assume she ate something while out in the garden that caused it. Her behaviour never changed she was still bouncing about full of energy. But thanks everyone for your help i really appreciate it
