adi786
hi recently started to use cci, been using Eley's subsonics before. Just feeling CCI are quite louder as compared to Eleys.. not sure if its just me or does it really make one make of ammo louder than the other? same grain same subsonics? 39TDS
Some makes are louder than others, no doubt about that. I am of the firm opinion that the only creatures that take any notice of the volume are humans, no other creature cares much at all.
telf
i use eley in mine, but tried alot of different makes in before settling on eley, but found cci to be by far the loudest, also the tighest when chambering the round
spandit
The thump when I hit the rabbit is far louder than the shot. Don't worry about it
Rimfireboy
You'll probably find that the eley's are a bit slower than cci subs if you chrono them.
Whitebridges
RWS HP subs are amongst the quietest.

adi786
Was just thinking if its ammo or something else, for sure i'll give a good clean to my moderator, as its been quite long since its been cleaned. And see if it reduces it a bit, right now its just quite abit.. one shot and all bloody rabbits ******* off.
Wb123
RWS HP subs are amongst the quietest. When i first shot an eley i thought it had misfired, i shall have to try some rws. I mostly use cci though as they are almost half the price. Edited as what i thought were rws were actually winchesters. iano
CCI are odd; in a box of 100 you can get some ones that give a really loud 'crack' while the rest are normal. The rounds run fast IIRC, so you can get some going supersonic.

Dekers
There are still a number of different powders used in Rimfire, and this will inevitably result in marginally different burn rates. Add to that the speed designed to be achieved, which will also vary, bullet shape, weight, etc and you will get variations of noise.
