To be honest its not 80s style violence, in those days rival fan went with the sole intension of fighting and they fought stone cold sober.

Today its just drink fuelled idiots who see matches as an excuse to get legless and then show off to the other legless idiots around them.

I live very close to Wembley and every match is a drinking fest. With the laxer drinking laws now some of the bars and pubs in the area are open at 9am on match days.

Firstly,I have Zero interest in Scottish football and very little in football as a whole. For me the whole Celtic/Rangers thing is about hatred and and not about the football.

I have no shame in saying I have friends who are big Celtic fan's and also know that Celtic Football club was founded by an Irish Marist so I suppose it is no surprise that there is a big Irish following. Also considering the many people who emigrated to Scotland from here.

I also used to go out with a girl who supported the Ger's and even know a few Catholics who support Rangers also.

I really dont know what the point is that you are trying to make.? I have read on here from another Scot's Man also Saying he considered Celtic to be more of an Irish team as opposed to Scottish' I couldnt care less one way or another but I'm pretty sure there would be many with a similar View in that the NI national team would be more of a Scotch team than actually an Irish one

Funny Old Game Football.

Maybe if you lived in Scotland you would know the point i am making , also does the NI team fly the Scottish flag ? Also from the english dictionary,,,,,,the use of Scotch to mean ‘relating to Scotland or its people’ is disliked by Scottish people and is now uncommon, although it survives in fixed expressions like Scotch egg and Scotch whisky. For more details, see Scottish.

Well I dont live in Scotland so maybe you should just say' What you meant by your original comment.

To answer your question about the flag. I dont know what flag they fly at Football matches but its not uncommon to see "Scottish" flags flying in many parts of NI and its no big secret that a large proportion of Northern Irish support Rangers FC. If you know your history then you will know why they have such an affiliation to Scotland.

Anyway I have no intention of getting dragged into something I care little about. Thankfully I live in a mixed Community were we all get along and as already stated Scottish football or Flegs for that matter have no interest to me .

I find it a bit pathetic to be honest; you pulling me up on my grammer. But thanks anyway for educating me the matter. I have read worse terms for the "Scottish" people on here so I assure you no offence was intended.

I have watched the video in question and to be totally honest I had to google who Lee Rigby was. I then remembered seeing the horrific newes on the TV.

I can safely say that sort of thing is Alien to me and also know for a fact that None of My Celtic supporter friends would lower themslves to that standard.

I also would say to comments above about "All the Celitic Fans" I would say that is a bit of a Major exaggeration. I seen a handful of Scottish Guys singing and happy to say I didnt detect any Irish accents in the video.

While I totally agree its a sad day when u can't wear a fitba shirt off ur choice, u also have to take some responsibility for ur fashion sense.

But u also have to ask why someone English wanted to wear a rangers top to a book signing at the same time as celtic were in town. I severely doubt he's a regular at ibrox

He wore it to provoke a reaction and seemingly got the reaction he was after

Celtic's fans are usually quite well behaved in general althou do express their political opinion often and vocally, (which has got celtic quite a few fines recently) and the views of the EDL would not be compatable

Lots of Celtic and Rangers fans live in London, Rod Stewart being a famous Celtic fan born near Highbury, he supported his dad's team rather than the obvious more logical (better?) choice of local team.

In London there are rival football fans from as many as ten different teams on the streets every Saturday night, away fans after watching their team play Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Brentford, Crystal Palace, QPR, Milwall, West Ham, etc routinely head into the bright lights of Central London along with a lot of home fans.

On any given Saturday, half the London teams will be playing at home and all those various rival fans, plus the fans of all the home teams end up drinking in the West End together. Can't remember any real trouble, its often not what we want the rest of the tourists to see. lots of antisocial behaviour like peeing in the streets but no clashes

It is lightly different in parts of Scotland thou with those 2 as in some parts still quite a strong religious divide (1 chemist had to change its normally green logo to blue to stop it getting smashed in 1 town), while the vast majority of fans will be the same as any other fitba fan and just give and take a bit of abuse all in good nature (most of the time)

But there are sizeable minorities of both sides who believe all the religious BS and are genuine bigots in every day life. And the 2 clubs have not made any effort to stamp it out as it was money in the bank for them (althou just this month celtic banned the 'green brigade' ' 'supporters' club but its cost them a fortune in fines for politicl banners they fly at every match)

Not sure if still the case but even 10-15yrs ago if u started a new job in Glasgow/west central belt area the 1st question would be wot school u went too to try and figure out wot religion u are.

Sadly at the fitba there are plenty of 90 minuate bigots too which sing the same songs but fortunately turn back to 'semi normal' people after the game is over.

And most off them have absolutely no idea about the history or wot the songs actually are about

In my area there is not that much religion involved in wot team u support but they all come back singing the songs and chanting the BS, I've seen brothers come to blows hile wearing green/blue shirts and seen a few pubs shut/mini riots (20 odd folk lifted) and that's from a small town here everyone knows each other and religion is never normally an issue.

The old firm games just tend to bring the worst out in even normal people and more often than not just create a poisonus atmosphere.

Yet u speak to the older boys and they reckon it was never that big an issue in the past pre 70's or so and ironically in those days the religious divide would be even divided

Heard at work from a football fan not a Sunderland fan though, that it kicked off in Sunderland over the Celtic fans being disrespectful of young Bradley who sadly lost his life. The Celtic louts got a pezling by sunderland from what I've heard.

Bad form if they did disrespect this child's fight for life.

Football rivalry is one thing being a complete piece of scum is quite another.

Can anyone enlighten me what the connection is, (Lee Rigby/Bradley) I get the religion bit but cannot fathom why some would mock the dead.?
