evolution380
The gun in question is a Browning B425 in good condition (I believe this is a sporterized trap gun) It's Grade 3 (Elite Model), Fixed 1/2 & 3/4 chokes with an aftermarket adjustable comb (looks to be a nice job) All wood in good condition. Also anyone anything good/bad/ugly to say about such an example? Please note I don't own this gun so assume it doesn't contravene the sticky Edited August 10, 2017 by evolution380
Hamster
£800 - £1100 depending on condition and wear, about £200 more if it's a 32", sounds like a saleable gun.

Gordon R
Looks almost too good to be true. Not sure about stock - right hand side - just before the action - appears to have some finish missing. If the top lever is over to the right, then this is a bargain. As it is for sale at a gunshop, the question has to be - why so cheap? If it had been round the corner from me, I would have bought it this afternoon. Agree, if that's anywhere near half decent condition and wear, it's an excellent buy.
Duckandswing
Agree, if that's anywhere near half decent condition and wear, it's an excellent buy. I'd be all over that. What's wrong with it? 🤔

evolution380
Thanks for the heads up from a member it did enter my mind that someone else could snap it up but as I was seeing it this afternoon thought i'd be ok. They are however holding the gun for me to have a look at now since I've got through to them. Phew Thanks for the comments, all being well it will be a nice gun in the flesh! The re-link now posted as i removed until i'd got it secured for my viewing. http://www.thecountryman.com/used-browning-b425-elite-grade-3-trap-shotgun-170527
Gunman
Value depends wholey on if you are buying or selling .Sellers always want more that you want to spend and buyers never want to pay what you want to sell it for . Simple fact of life .
sishyplops
one has to wonder why a dealer would sell a £900- £1000 gun for £
shaun4860
It's a VERY nice gun for the money if it's as described, Did you buy it?
evolution380
Beautiful gun had a couple of minor marks but I wouldn't say to a reflect a price that low, still tight and over to the right when cocked. It just did not fit me no matter what I did, put numerous other browning, Beretta and Mirokus in my hand heck even bettinsolis etc to just check and the gun mount was perfect every time. The 425 just wouldn't fit me no matter how hard I and they tried. It was as though I was cursed with it. Couldn't make a figure of 8 with the mid bead no matter how much I tried. Spent an hour adjusting the comb for me before admitting defeat and saying it just wasn't for me! Top marks to countryman of derby for being so honest! I'm gutted to be walking away from it as I did really like it. Oh well
TIGHTCHOKE
Well at least you went and tried it out, shame it was not for you.
evolution380
Well at least you went and tried it out, shame it was not for you. Very disappointed I would have bought something else but I was genuinely gutted and couldn't bring myself to make such a decision. Going to look again Tommorow at that RFD and another. They had a nice Miroku 7000 in but the wood grade just feel rubbish after handling the b425. As said lovely gun, a couple of marks that could easily be sorted by someone with the time, patience and knowhow. I do believe the stock is probably closer to 14 inch than stated on the advert however should anyone be interested!
steve d
For the price of the 425, could you not get it tweaked/fitted? Youd still be quids in i reckon
evolution380
I ended up getting a Miroku Mk38 Sporter with 4 x Extended invector + Teague chokes. 1/2 1/2 & 1/4 1/4 Also comes with 2 x Flush Fitting Chokes which are full and full. It has a recoil reducer on it which put me off probably but when I saw it in the flesh it was ok! but it fits me absolutely lovely, when cocked it sits over to the right, in good all around condition very happy with it! The B425 was a very pretty gun I'm sad it wasn't for me! But it's worked out in the end as the MK38 is bang on an was a bargain! The 425 will make a cracking gun for somebody! evolution380
Hi Bakerboy. I was referring to the top lever, it sits a touch to the right.
wymberley
I don't suppose it could have been something as simple as too much toe - or am I being silly?
evolution380
I don't suppose it could have been something as simple as too much toe - or am I being silly? I'm all a bit new to it so I'm not entirely sure! It was bizarre though. I tried numerous other Brownings and mirokus, all of which with a quick mount fit pretty much bang on, figure of 8 or just the end bead no barrel in sight. Even tried Berettas and they fit ok too! With the 425 I was looking down on the rib no matter what I did and also the mid bead was sat miles to the right of the end bead. I was rolling my head over the stock and all sorts to try and compensate it was doing my consistency no good at all. Tried numerous alterations with the comb and it still wasn't enough. I tried the numerous other guns after the 425 as initially put it down to being a bit of a novice. The guy in the shop then had a brain wave to try different guns and every time my mount was spot on. I've not really had any problems with a consistent mount except with the 425. I think the stock was slightly shortened but I honestly was very confused why it wouldn't fit me even with alterations. In hindsight I could have spent £200 having a day out getting it properly adjusted to suit me, but I didn't think about it at the time. wymberley
Nip down to Exmouth sea front this time of year and within a couple of minutes you'll have realised why we don't all wear a 40" Regular size suit and size 9 shoes. This could well have belonged to someone who wore 'irregular' everything. Probably by the time you got it sorted it would have ceased to be a bargain buy. Put it down to experience and forget it. Sooner or later you'll trip over something at the right price which you like even more and which does fit.

evolution380
Haha good point there Red-dot! I've bought something else I'm happy with so the blow has been softened! Doesn't feel as pretty but it fits me well and it's multichoke so I can mix up the disciplines a little more.
