BillyWhizz
I'm in the process of upgrading my CZ rifles to Anschutz. I was wondering what make of ammo others are using in their Anschutz? Are they ammo fussy? Any info or recommendations would be good. Cheers
Medic1281
Mine don't like cci or eley much but do well on Winchester.
BillyWhizz
Is that for 22 or 17 mate?
Dead-Eyed Duck
I did the same. My 22 likes Eley, whereas the 17 uses Hornady. However, both of my rifles are not fussy, although some are.....

wymberley
my Annie uses Remington .17 HMR ammo and Eley rabbit .22 subs +1 No problem with the HMR cases. Stopped using the Eley when they decided to cover them in muck. Switched to SK which were even better but these are no longer made so will revisit Eley when I run out. thefuelfuse
My Anschutz HMR's first choice is Winchesters with Federals a close second.
Walker570
Personally I must have been very lucky because all the rim rifles I have owned have just enjoyed being shot. I am a Winchester fan however, never let me down over 40yrs. Regarding the rifles, they are both excellent shooters and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't believe the customers will notice. Edited August 20, 2017 by Walker570
BillyWhizz
Cheers for the input lads. I had hope you were all gonna say the same rounds though. 😄 Sorry 'hoped' not 'hope' 😬
Medic1281
Is that for 22 or 17 mate? Sorry I should've been more specific. The .22lr likes winchesters and doesn't like the cci or eley. The hmr is more limited to available ammunition, but never had major issues with either hornady or Winchester. Every rifle will have its favourites, just buy a few of each to start with and see what she likes. Best of all, have fun!

BillyWhizz
My .17 Annie loves hornby 17 grain 4 shot (a full mag) 10p size group at 120 yards Is there a larger mag available for the Anschutz 17 hmr yet?
Medic1281
Is there a larger mag available for the Anschutz 17 hmr yet? You can get an 8shot magazine from Clive ward I think.
psycho
Is there a larger mag available for the Anschutz 17 hmr yet? I don't know but personally I do not like mags that pert rude bellow the bottom of the stock..I preference flush mags and 4 shots I find to be sufficient as a .17 is not the quietest of rounds and most things will have disappeared after the second shot is taken

I think the reality is simply spending more on something some may consider more aesthetically pleasing or better engineered. I am a big fan of Anschutz, but in the field you will get no more accuracy, no more reliability and no more repeatability than a CZ, and in the field what else do you need? Spend your money however you like, I am not for one second suggesting you shouldn't, its just the term Upgrading and your expectations I am wondering about! ATB! BillyWhizz
Sorry if I hit a nerve there old boy but my 2 guns are 15 & 20 years old. They have had 10's of thousands of shots through them & are starting to show it. By 'upgrading' I mean I'm gonna buy something of what I think are better quality. I sure you treat yourself to something a little extravagant as & when you can?

So, you are replacing Old/worn out CZ. I said...... BillyWhizz
Don't think it was poorly worded. I was only asking about ammo. My first post, is that the issue? Everone else was helpful for which I am greatful, maybe you are a veteran around here & deserve more respect from a noob?
