wokkywokky
I have had great success with my easyhit sight. This is very similar to the Rambo, in fact I believe the Rambo is a copy of the easyhit. It uses the same principle with a fibre-optic rod to project an image on a holographic lens, however the Rambo is a dot and the easyhit is a ring with a dot. I have carried out a patterning test with this to get it all lined up. My hit rate has improved massively. My gun is not I'll fitting but I am a **** shot and it doesnt take much to be off your mount to be off target by a few feet at 30-40 yards. The easyhit has eliminated that inconsistent mount problem for me. Here are a few links to the videos of me patterning the gun with this sight. . Well Done,,They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Now the only difference is that it is a Ring not a Dot.. But for looks,Exactly the same,Same mountings on the Rib. So the chinese have Copied it from Easyhit. Wokkywokky mentions Dropping the centre of the target from where it shot slightly high.. So all you do is RAISE THE FRONT SCREW which makes the dot or ring in this case higher. When sighting the next time it puts the Dot or Ring UP,So it lowers your Point of impact,,Simple. Well done on the video mate..
Guest cookoff013
hmmm, might have to get one.
wokkywokky
I have discussed this with Colin and I think it might be possible to modify the Rambo sight to give a red ring or for that matter any image in the glass that you want. Below are a few images from my easyhit and as they both work on the same principle the Rambo may be modified to give a ring or cross hair. If they are the same then we just need to find a nice accurate way of printing/scribing the desired pattern on the end of the fluorescent tube. Colin send me some pics of the Rambo and lets get them on here for everyone to see.
wokkywokky
I have also uploaded a short vid of me using the easyhit tackling some rabbits. This was prior to me patterning the sight so I needed the second shot a few times. Gun is choked at 3/4 and 1/2 and since patterning I'm taking a lot of birds with the first shot. https://youtu.be/i9YCA_j7t2o
subsonicnat
The pictures you managed to take very good. As I can see on your pictures the very tiny hole in the middle of your Ring,(Did not intend to make it sound like that),,lol. It does'nt look like the hole is any bigger,,(I can hear the tea being spat out)..lol. I think it would be difficult to reproduce that on such a tiny area.. There again you may be a very clever chap.. Sub. Aaaaaaahhh,,,, The Black plastic on the front has been removed, silly me.. Just thought mate how about makeing a NEW PLATE IN PLASTIC TO FIT.. YEEEEEEEHHHAAAAAAA.. Edited August 29, 2017 by subsonicnat
wokkywokky
Looking at the pics of the Rambo below it appears that they use a slightly different setup. The easyhit has the end of the red tube painted and the dot and ring has been etched away to allow the light through. The Rambo appears to have a plastic plate with a very small hole drilled. There are a few ways the Rambo could be modified to allow a ring or cross hair to be made to allow the light through onto the glass. I'm going to order a Rambo and try it out on one of my other guns. billytheghillie
Well after ranting last night about my sight not being here it has arrived. Here,s a breakdown of purchasing it-- 1. Ordered placed 7th August 2. Order dispatched 8th August 3. Order received here ( Scottish Borders ) 29th August. So, 22 days for delivery, not bad from half way around the world, plus free postage. The one I received is not a Rambo, but a Shooin SFD which sounds better.

wokkywokky
The rambo/shooin are excellent value for money. The design when compare to the £160 easyhit are virtually like for like but instead of a red ring you get a dot. I can work with either of these though I feel a modification coming on. The worse case scenario is you don't get on with it and you have lost 20quid, unless you eBay it for a tenner! At those figures most people are happy to take a punt. I will order mine tomorrow so let's see how long it takes. Edited August 29, 2017 by wokkywokky
billytheghillie
Next question, I have just acquired a Franchi Affinity and where do I mount the sight? Also can I put some black tape on barrel to stop scratches?
Westley
Yes it is funny how things work out.. 3/4 years ago I shot my last Duck,,I can still see thim wiffling in at last light. I shot both with 1 shot from a 3:1/2" Hatsan, They hit the ice and skidded to a Halt. The Dog retrieved them beautifuly,,Put them on the Bonnet of the truck.. A light came on in my head,,.. THEY LOOKED BETTER FLYING. Instead of Crumpled on my Bonnet.. I Sold all my guns, and bought the last one I hope I shall ever buy..Do Not Hold Me To That..lol.. I Bought a Camera, and Still like the Sunsets. No More Cold Creeks... I would be a liar to say I do not miss it,,But my stomache turns over when I think of those two Duck. So here we are trying to make the best of it,on Bituman Clays.. I Never Ever thought I would think that let alone do it.. My time has gone now,But boy,,Those films in my head can be replayed if I wish,But I Don't. Like you said mate,,Funny old World,,But,, I bet I am not the Only one on Here.. You are NOT ! subsonicnat
Next question, I have just acquired a Franchi Affinity and where do I mount the sight? Also can I put some black tape on barrel to stop scratches?Well what I did was to put one sided sticky tape the right side, along were it fits the Rib,And the same on the left,,BUT The grub screws need to be set up so the DOT is in THE MIDDLE Of the rib above the PIP on your gun..The windage if you call it that,on mine anyway has just enough movement to pitch LEFT or RIGHT.. When saisfied with the alignment, shoot at something,,if the pattern is HIGH there is a Single screw at the Front,,(Glass End).turn CLOCKWISE To raise the sight picture to centre of your first shot.. Its not a lot,so do not go mad...lol.. Its the opposite to setting up a CHEEK STOCK,Because it is at the FRONT.. When you have it to your liking,We are all different mounting,,if you get it RIGHT,, ANYBODY COULD SHOOT YOUR GUN,,There is NO PARRALAX,It is plain Glass. Even a CROSS EYED CHAP WILL Be able to Shoot it,As ONLY HIS RIGHT EYE will see the DOT.. BOTH EYES MUST BE OPEN,it is not Telescopic Sight.. Look at the TARGET ONLY:::::::::You WILL SEE THE DOT,IN PRERIFFERAL VISION.. It is GREAT FUN,,6 SHOTS and you will think you have done it ALL Your Life. And I care if Perifferable,is spelt wrong,Could not bothered to get dictionary out As long as you put EQUAL AMOUNTS of the same protection BOTH SIDES,,Once SET You can TAKEN IT OFF AND PUT IT BACK in the SAME PLACE.. I Did on mine use the right hand screw to set it Where i wanted it..THEN... I LOCKED THEM WITH SUPE GLUE,,,Now you use ONLY The screws on the LEFT Tighten it.. The ONLY SCREWS THAT MOVE THEN TO TIGHTEN IT WILL BEE ON THE "LEFT". Its easy,Just sounds complex,,lol.lol.
