DanBettin
Let me know if this thread needs moving/closing - I don't doubt there are probably a few about asking for prices. Never bought more than 250 carts before, what can I expect/hope to pay for 2000 28g 12 gauge? I'm talking cheapest, not too fussed on brand (yet). Also, I've found someone that's pricing them per 250 as they are per 1000. I'd expect the more you buy the cheaper they are, am I well off on this? Thanks
TIGHTCHOKE
250 1000 10000 Is normally where the discounts improve. Good luck.
Gordon R
Depends where you live. £170 - £180 per 1000.

DanBettin
Thanks for the replies! Very much appreciated. I'm in the North West. Best price so far is £47.50 for 250 but £190 per 1000 (no discount there). I don't think I'm getting any favours for buying 2000 either to be honest so I'm open to suggestions nearby or any suggestions worth the drive. Thanks. DanBettin
Found some for £184/1000. Same price as what you got dj geoff. I'm happy with that, probably go there tomorrow.
figgy
Ring around as somewhere will have something on offer. Malmo guns are usually competitive.

TIGHTCHOKE
I was paying £42 for a slab of 250 NSI-UNO Prima Nobel Sport 28g 7 1/2 plastic wad shells 3 weeks ago.

Westley
I have been using 24 gram Cheddite from Malmo at £186/1000 (28 gram at £188/1000). Having used several thousand without a problem, I will be staying with them, cracking cartridges and great people to deal with.
figgy
I like the NSI UNO Prima bought thousands last year and find they work well for me.
Guest cookoff013
Can I point out that if you are not fussed, just really think what you want. you could end up with shells that don't run your auto(for instance).

Are these the cartridge you are talking about, not a bad price, what sort of range are you shooting at, have you tried them on crows?....http://centralguns.co.uk/nobel-sport-italia-nsi/45-nsi-uno-prima.html#/25-wad-plastic/38-shot_size-75/49-load_gms-28_gms/46-quantity-1000

motty
I find the Primas very good on pigeons and crows.
old'un
It's a shame we can't use game cartridges for clays - the price would then tumble. They tell us one minute the price increase is due to the high price of lead, then its the price of powder, so why are steel shot cartridges nearly the same price as lead, steel/iron £60 per ton, lead £1100 per ton. Its a bit like the rip off with diesel v petrol, the more people used diesel the higher the price went.
old'un
I find the Primas very good on pigeons and crows. What sort of range are you killing crows at? Been using some English Sporter 28g 71/2 plaswad, been impressed with their killing range on pigeons, but had a few crows hit but managed to fly off into the woods, the other thing is the bloody plastic wads all over the field, I like to use fibre wad but the price is just getting silly. wymberley
I have no choice, am obliged to use fibre. If Motty comes back with a range which suits you, try a box of Fibre Comp X. I've been having trouble getting something in fibre which suits my new gun and with just one option left to try (can't get any at the moment), these have come out on top, producing good quality tight patterns - obviously in my gun. I find the Primas very good on pigeons and crows. There you go, good enough for Motty. If it can be killed with these, why waste more money on more expensive shells.
