johnnytheboy
So what’s the difference between these two guns? I see some advertised as eell and some as eell diamond pigeon?
figgy
Is one a later model ?

Jason_ox
According to this, no difference. http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/shotgun/beretta-687-diamond-pigeon-shotgun-review
itchy trigger
the plain EELL, I think, is normally the original one, I know mine is 2 3/4" chamber and not proofed for steel, even though I have been reliably informed the barrels are the same and that I could have the chambers lengthened to 3" and have them proofed for steel if I wanted, the engraving on the older guns in my view is superior to the newer ones, I think the EELL diamond pigeon was introduced when Beretta fetched out the EELL classic Edited January 16, 2018 by itchy trigger wording
dodeer
I know where’s the a mint EELL scroll engraved 30” F.C. £3300
figgy
Lot of money for some engraved side plates and higher grade wood. Understand if it was a true sidelock but not the same basic action as a sil pig

figgy
Itchy trigger I bought a sil pig grade four as I liked the look of it. Won’t shoot any better than a grade 1. As for handling a bit of weight in the stock or forend can make any handle as you like.
itchy trigger
so, as he who shall not be named on this forum says in his gun reviews, it adds weight, importantly, between the hands and so makes a world of difference, or would you dispute beretta's thinking about weight between the hands improving handling re the DT10's and even more so in the DT11
figgy
Yes I’d dispute it, it suits some not all. If it were the case all guns would be made that way and no need for anything more. Even Beretta don’t make all they’re guns that way. Nothing more than marketing blurb, if it works for you great.
MR. BROWN
eell is a grade. eell Diamond Pigeon is a model of that grade. I'm currently searching for another side plated Beretta to swap the buttstock with a straight grip ..... Or maybe, just stump up $10 grand aussie and buy a new Beretta 687 eell 'Royal Pigeon', as I understand they can be had with a straight grip ex factory .... Ah, the joy of shopping about ! ( just don't tell the missus ) Edited January 17, 2018 by MR. BROWN

Alex1Nat2
I’ve been looking for one recently and I’m staggered by the variation in quality of wood. some are stunning but others look barely above that on a standard Silver Pig 1. MR. BROWN
Just laid my money down for a 687 eell Classic. Last one left; I wonder what the wood was like on the others.
figgy
Mr Brown that is one stunning looking stock, the others must have been exhibition grade if yours was left till last.
