Heading of to Florida next week and intend on going to Bass Pro. Stumbled across one of their stores last year with so much variety at such a good price I was unsure what to get  . Want a camo suit for general roughshooting any good ones in mind? Any other good gear you have had experience with boots, waders, leggings etc would be a great help

Also I have a .22 that only gets used during the summer for rabbits want to buy a sight for it can I buy one in America without a liscence.Assuming they are cheaper in the states? Allways just used the iron sights

Cheers

Whatever you buy, don't forget you have to get it home and excess luggage charges are high.

Also remember to remove all labels and packaging, then if you are stopped by Customs (albeit unlikely) you can claim you took them with you.

I had a problem once with a couple of new fishing reels that I left in their boxes.

Customs made me pay all the duties on them when I came home and they were not cheap any more.

Their net/ghillie cammo suits are good, hard wearing and don't weigh hardly anything.

If you go fishing, or know anyone that does, then reels and line , especially braid, is very cheap comparatively.

Look to buy from US manufacturers, do you homework before you go, comparing their prices to ours.

But you should be able to save a packet on anything Leupold, Burris, Bushnell etc.

I made a saving on a Leica Rangefinder last week and normally European stuff isn't that cheap in the US, but the £/$ rate is very favourable at the moment.

Fill yer boots!

Baitrunners at under half the UK price

Off to Alaska in August, having looked at the prices in Basspro I know I should have chosen Orlando. Plus side is I can stock up on proper thermal socks etc as I have some from an Alaskan out fitter that are amazing. Good point regarding the labels Cranfeild

That bass pro shop in Orlando is a real sweetie shop. I bought a couple of high end fly rods ( Loomis and Sage) that were well under half the UK price. Some optics are a lot cheeper, but european brands like Leica and Swarovski aren't that much cheaper. Enjoy your tour, and take the plastic!

Turkey vests at Bass pro are the danglers, especially if you like to shoot pigeon/duck/rabbit/deer/fox and don`t want to take a hide and therefore are more mobile. They are a padded seat and backrest all in a vest which takes loads of gear with you.

I love mine.

I strongly urge you to purchase the legendary 'chameleon suit' and if you PM Pavman he will fill you in on its effectiveness

Or you could ask NTTF

LB

And guess what pavman flys out to the good ol USA next week for a lads weekend, and a Police concert, front 10 rows

Having lived here in Florida for better than forty years I have made more than a few trips to the BPS stores in Orlando and Destin. There's a third one In Atlanta that is just as close to me as the Orlando store. I feel like I am surrounded by them. I buy more at Bass Pro for fishing than hunting but there is so much stuff it takes about eight laps to see everything. Enjoy your trip.

I was in the BasPro shop in Macon, Georgia a month or so ago and having visited quite a few of their other locations, I would have to say its the biggest and best, especially with the range of boats and other outdoor vehicles they have there.

We have nothing comparable in the UK.
