John_R
Some years ago I built a man-cave from scratch, using 19mm shiplap on a sturdy frame, plasterboard inside and insulation between. Now I want to do something for my wife to use, and was thinking of using some sheet material as opposed to shiplap. Partly for a different look, and partly as I would hope it would go up faster and be less of a chore to maintain. Likely overall size would be 8'x10 (2.4 mx3.0m) or maybe slightly larger, and certainly no taller than 8' at the highest point. Any likely contenders, without having to blow a fortune on it? johnphilip
I think it would be cheaper to buy one than build your own .
John_R
Thanks so far. was hoping to find materials already finished as opposed to requiring paint etc.

It is a composite type board, (same material as weatherboard). Comes in lots (about 5 diff greys alone!!) of colours! Colour/paint coating is guaranteed for 25yrs. They also do all the colour matched trim. (corners/edging etc) this type of thing, but they also do other types https://www.marleyeternit.co.uk/Facades/EQUITONE/Pictura.aspx Edited July 2, 2018 by silver pigeon69

scotslad
That stockboard is not cheap. Another option might be some composite shower/splash boarding, again pretty expensive. U can get slightly cheaper marine ply stuff too but would have to weather proof any cut ends How long do u want the building to last, simple exterior or marine ply can last a while if u keep water out of ends, or some pvc type cladding on top of a ply base. amateur
I used marine ply on my workshop. Painted it when I built it 27 years ago and repainted it about 10 years ago. It could do with painting again.
John_R
Yes I did flinch a bit at the stokbord costs. I was hoping to find a cladding type thing I suppose. Maybe I'll just use ply and paint it after all.
scotslad
U can use flat say 4-6" boards butted tight together with an 1-2" board nailed on top over the join, if u want something that looks different than the shiplap finish? But still need to treat it every so often

team tractor
You’ll never go wrong with birch ply. £50-65ba sheet for 18mm
