fatchap
Well my plans for the weekend have gone a bit "Pete Tong" I have been meaning to straighten my forge chimney for a while, nothing wrong with it, just it wasn't straight and really annoyed me. So up I goes Sunday afternoon onto the roof and 20 seconds later I am on the way down fast, hit the wooden barrel water butt on the way down which assisted a great deal in slowing me down not without dislocating my left shoulder in the process. I'm in agony on the floor, I get up and there is this huge clunk from my shoulder which I am told was the joint going back which is a good thing. The wife takes me to A&E and after a very long wait I get an X-ray I did indeed dislocate my shoulder but its gone back unfortunately I have damaged all sorts of structural stuff and will be off work for two weeks minimum. I cant believe they did not give me a sling for my arm. They said I need to keep it moving as much as possible or it will stiffen up. Lots of pain killers, no pub but on the bright side my boss is furious! I left him a message and it was seconds before he got back screaming down the phone about how short he is of drivers, can I at least do light duties, I'm a key member of staff (thats his favourite line, makes you feel important so you come in) Anyway the chimney is still on the wonk but I'm afraid its going to have stay like that for a few weeks at least. team tractor
I’ve never been off for over a fortnight and that includes repairing my snapped leg but being self employed I have no choice. I can’t really ask my staff back in as I wouldn’t be insured if they had an accident. I’d be in trouble with h+s so I assess my lads but bad backs is as bad as they’ve got so I carry the stuff or someone else. Hope you heal ok 👍 and as said already you need to get physio when they say your fit. Don’t leave it to long as you’ll set . Can you drive still ? Lloyd90
Tell your boss to do one 😣. I hate being off work get bored as anything but if I tell them I’m sick it’s for good reason. They don't seem to make such as fuss with those who take who are off sick every other week when their kids are off school etc though, probably know they’ll tell them to p off if they question them 🙄.
