Ferret664
Is this a rosehip ? Was thinking of making a rosehip vodka ?
JDog
They look like Rosehips but those dark serrated leaves are not from the same plant are they?
Walker570
Need to see the leaves and branches. Rose hips bring back many memories of creating mayhem in class using the seeds from inside as itching powder, Drop a couple down someones open neck shirt and wait for the reaction. BRYAN3
I made elderberry syrup a few years back. That was lovely. Looked into making rosehip. You can use the big fat hips from Rosa Rugosa also.
JDog
My guess is that they are not Rosehips but the seed case of another type of wild rose. The leaves are all wrong. I have just taken this photo for comparison. Edited October 8, 2019 by JDog

pond digger 007
Yes, it’s rose hip. I’m not aware of anything that they could be mistaken for.
Walker570
Back in the late 40s and early 50s we used to harvest them from the hedgerows and they would be sent off to be made into Rose Hip Syrup. Cannot remember what we got per pound but probably 3 pence. There are a few different varients of the dog rose. Fatcatsplat
If you make anything rosehip, filter the syrup through a tea towel - They are full of little fronds inside that will stick very annoyingly in your throat
