Demonic69
Inspired by the young lass and her paracord adventures, I thought I'd make a pull-through style shotgun cleaner. Turned and threaded the alu holder on my old Myford lathe. Milled the flats and the slot, then filed down the sharp edges. Found a vid on YouTube for making the snake knots and spent an hour or three at it while in a hotel for work. Finished off with a 7.62x39 cartridge, melted the ends of the paracord by heating up the cartridge with a torch/lighter, then filled with hot glue to seal it all up. Should fit nicely in my bag and allow a quick run through after clays

It was nice to get proper use out of the lathe, it's not been spun up for a couple of years

figgy
Bet his Mrs goes of the deep end when he puts it in the washing machine for a clean. Very nice and therapeutic, I've made a beach lanyard and some key fobs and zipper pulls in last year. Some knots are too complicated. That looks practical. I'm hoping it doesn't get too dirty, might just have to hose it down to save the marriage 6 hours ago, figgy said: Some knots are too complicated. That looks practical. The video I watched showed an easy method for the snake knot, it's easy once you get into the rhythm, only uses one strand and doesn't take up too much cord. I should have done it tighter at the start but didn't have the confidence that I was doing it right! Cheers for the comments all

Demonic69
Went to test it yesterday... Discovered the FiL's cleaning kit has a different thread to mine... DOH!!! Joke's on me for thinking they were a standard size (M5). I don't trust the spiral brush I have with my kit, so I'll order an M5 phosphor bronze brush and have another go!
