As above can anyone recommend an ant killer for use in the kitchen bearing in mind that I have a dog I know that they are coming from behind the skirting board so I have removed the skirting board and I am thinking of blocking the hole up will this be enough. Thanks.

Put ant powder behind the skirting board.

Or diotomeacious earth it's an inert powder that kills insects by being microscopically sharp and cuts them to death. Used for mites in hen coop.

You won't believe this but when I showed my missus the name of that powder I said I bet you haven't got any of this hang on she said goes to the cupboard and comes back with a bag of it she's old school and has lots of stuff in jars tins and bags.

Got a bloody good one there, what did she have it for she put it in the windows to stop the ants

Just asked her she had read up about it and then bought it from the Internet.

Boric acid. You mix it into a bait, either sweet or savory depending on the type of ant. There are recipes online on how to make the mixtures  In Thailand ants are always an issue and boric acid is what we use. It works too.

Thanks Retsdon mixed it with maple syrup boy do they like that we are now ant free.

I have a plaque of silverfish, and been told that diot. earth will do the job.

If you have a plaque of silverfish then you have a damp problem 👍
