worrall26
Knew it needed new blade,as burning wood. Kept stopping and starting. Sparks from motor. Finally no momentum. Thought this will be pricey for new machine. Took cabon brushes ot of motor, hardly anything left. New 40 teeth blade, £20.00 and 2 brushes of ebay, £6.91. Happy days. treetree
After years of using the same supplied blade in the tools I buy, I've just discovered replacing blades with the appropriate number of teeth for the job. What a difference!

bruno22rf
Keep an eye if you shop in Aldi - they sometimes do blades at £7 each and they work a treat.
Diver One
Once you see sparks or it becomes intermittent STOP as it is telling you it isn't happy. Some of the cheap brushes do not have a ",retention" braid in them. This stops the brush wearing down to the spring , if the spring touches two segments of the commutator ( shiny round striped coppery thing ) then it's curtains. A new and correctly toothed blade makes a lot of difference. I also put a very light spray of silicone spray on the blade if I am not applying a finish to the wood. Nearly all finishes hate silicone
team tractor
Although you can get cheap blades I’ll recommend a Freud blade every time .

First blade a replaced was from Aldi. Remember them doing a twin pack few years ago. Coarse and fine blade.
