Bench what I made.

My mate is a tree surgeon and gave me a length of spalted beech to "do something with" as it had a lovely pattern on it. It's been sitting here a while but lockdown made me dig out my blunt saw and bent chisel and set to work.

I had a few bits of timber in the barn so made it into a bench. It's 18" high and set about 18" into the ground.

Yeah, he had given it 2 coats of linseed oil after he split it. I gave it 2 coats of danish oil to re-moisten it up and a couple of coats of matt varnish to finish.

have you got any fish in there ?

Rainbows, a few small tench, rudd and some whopping Koi carp. i've got a permit for more carp, tench and silverfish. Had a scare a while back that there was a catfish in there but had no sightings or evidence since.
