old'un
best way would be in a barrel with some bio washing powder, failing that you could put it in a cotton pillow case and move it about in some hot water and bio washing powder. Hello, I would put shot in cold water and the rubbish should float on top, then warm water a washing liquid and roll around then take out and dry off, if it's different sizes you could make a sieve like thingy but I think can buy ready made

figgy
Wash in buckets that sieve it out, Kay it out to dry and go over it all with a strong magnet to pick out any steel. When dry put shot in round containers with lids and a spoonful of graphite powder, out kids on and roll around till all shot is coated. Vince Green
Avoid unless you know more. We used to reclaim shot by spreading tarps out on the DTL range and the shot came back good enough to load straight from the bucket. That was before the days of steel
DUNKS
Actually I was more concerned about grit as I can only shoot felt wads.

sitsinhedges
I bought some reclaimed shot once. It was very dusty with oxide so I ended up melting it down to redrip. It made the worst shot I gave ever turned out. Heaven knows what was really in it.

Possibly a mix of everything shotgun pellets are made of.
