My question was asked , so as to get some kind of understanding of why you post in the ways that you do.  You appear to write in English,  but you don't appear the think in English.  This is not meant as an insult in any way ( their is no shame in English not being your first language), but it would explain your apparent rudeness in many of your replies to other members . You can certainly provide good dictionary definitions of the words that you use , yet it appears that you don't understand the definition that you've kindly provided , and often contradict yourself , again ,this could be explained ( and it may help others to understand your apparent lack of manners) if English isn't your first language .

In other matters . your claiming that you have three mates that are coppers , well I'm calling bull on that one buddy , you made that one up to suit your argument.  If you need me to explain why and how Ive arrived at this conclusion , please feel free to ask👍.

That is a rather special case though.  Restricted goods and requiring paperwork to posses is long way from Vax Passports to participate in every day life.

There is a massive difference between the requirement for drivers to be well trained and competent, and ridiculous bureaucratic hurdles.  I'm no industry insider, but from all I read and hear, the tendency is definitely towards the latter.

So you don't know any HGV drivers then? I know one fella who drives and another who after leaving the police was training HGV drivers, but now just drives part time.

Two.  One now owns his own firm with a 5-odd artics, and is struggling for drivers.  The other has still maintained his Class 1 from his army days, but these days is more into project management.  I've put the latter in touch with the former, but the PM game is more lucrative...

But since you asked twice now: I've only just this week been invited for jab no 2.  Yes I know, there are walk-in centres where you could go sooner, but I was finding conflicting information on the NHS websites as to whether the required 8 week gap was a hard rule or not.

I did have to look up 'inter alia' the other day, when it appeared in the news in relation to the Omagh bombing judgement.  I didn't go to one public school where one is still taught latin...

But when you mention on an open forum not in private messages something then you can hardly say it's none of my business,  you brought it up,  and I still don't understand how or why you wouldn't have been able to travel to see elderly parents ( your words I think) I say this because people have still travelled in an out of the country,  some for business and others for holidays,  I'd expect seeing elderly relatives to be allowed but probably have had to isolate on return?

I probably did know some Latin when I was younger,  but other than per se, etc  and carp diem I can't think of any time it gets used other than in books(where I'd have to Google) or by people on threads like this trying to make clever points, but if you have to look up something to see what someone is trying to say then what's the point.

The country concerned allows visitors from the UK in with no quarantine provided they're fully jabbed.  Which I'm not, yet.

On the UK side of things, said country is still on the Amber list.  So, expensive tests and self-isolation upon return, which is a problem.  The terribly-named 'data not dates' principle currently has scheduled the dropping of the requirement to self-isolate from the 16th of August.   So, as I've waited this long...

Im not sure of the political bias of Politico in its American form (The European version is left leaning and fervently pro EU/globalist) but I get the distinct impression they dont like conservatives much, particularly ones like Desantis.

What I can say is infection spikes in the US are most certainly not confined to Florida , or any other GOP governed state, in fact very few states are not experiencing infection spikes, due to Delta ect.
What they are not having, is much increased deaths and hospitalisations, much like the UK.
