the hitman
Hi folks I have previously stated that I prefer clay cartridges for decoying pigeons and as I am unable to get Prima’s and LA jokers locally - I am looking for an alternative. My local gun shop has Hull superfasts 27g no 7.5 at about £200 per thousand. I have no experience with this cartridge- and I am not looking to begin a debate on what’s the best pigeon cartridge- just a review from any members who have used them for pigeons. Cheers Hitman
TIGHTCHOKE
They break clays well enough, put them through a bit of choke and you should be happy. I have used them on pigeons when running out of 6s. Edited August 15, 2021 by TIGHTCHOKE

Hi TC Yes I use 1/2 & 3/4 choke - thank you for the feedback.
Westley
I have over 1000 of them, as said, they will mince clays at all but extreme range through my 1/4 & 1/4 choked gun. I did use some 29 gram 6's of the same cartridge on pigeon and crows recently and they worked well enough too. I have seen 7 1/2's used over decoys to good effect through 1/2 choke. HantsRob
Hull superfast are banned at one of my local venues. I believe noise related.

Johnny English
I've shot a box or two at pigeons before when I ran out of the 6's variant of the same and got on really well with them, killed clean out to very good ranges even through 1/4 and 1/4. cardigun
Hi, I have used Hull superfast Pigeon for a few years. It is one of the lightest cartridges that will operate my semi-auto. Works well for me, and British made !
wymberley
At their MV there is an appreciable difference in poke down-range to the more usual speed. However, it's probable that their performance is more likely to be the fact that they're the same size as my Lyalvale 7s - both could be classed as 7&1/4. Mr grumpy
I found them too hard on the recoil.so much so that i gave a slab away!
Guest cookoff013
Just buy whatever. In some instances they will be fine. As will 99% of all other cartridges.
the hitman
I had a little sorte out today with my newly acquired Hull superfast 27g no7.5 - and over the decoys I couldn’t fault them. I only shot 2 wood pigeons however I put a dent in a large flock of ferals that were showing an interest in my decoys. I was purposely only shooting at pigeons 30yrds plus and using 3/4 & full choke the superfasts were crumping them up. Verdict - good replacement for my LA Joker’s Hitman
