I enjoyed it a lot. Nice to hear a proper Norfolk accent from former fisherman Hooker. The goose count was a good watch. The numbers they get at Holkham are enormous as you can see.

get the same number at Cantley from time to time........bloody noisy

Went round the deer park a few years ago, all in VGC including a new blood line from Scandinavia. They were superb!

Enjoyed the programme as it focused on local input on the estate.

The Holkham Estate is the jewel in the crown up on the North Norfolk coast , a lovely estate that is very well kept , if you ever get the chance you want to try the different walks around the estate , the lake ( short ) , the farm walk ( medium ) and the longer one is walking around the estate ,  they are all sign posted and when I done them they didn't cost a penny , although I went by bus so I didn't have to park my car , the cafeteria was in the court yard so you didn't have to pay to go into the hall for a cup of tea , another good walk is to go down the drive ( Lady Ann's Drive ) opposite the hall road entrance and walk all the way round back to Wells and treat yourself to award winning fish and chips and eat them while sitting near the harbour , I can assure you it is well worth it , both the walk and the cost of the fish and chips .:good:

We intend to return asap.

I fancied "The Victoria" for a day or two and crab sandwich at Morston Quay on the way. I seem to remember the chippie in Wells but 10 years ago now. The beach huts were something else too?

Went to Norfolk once, to buy a LR 90 from a bloke called ditchman. They all talk queer and have six toes seven fingers and a hunch back 😁 and it's a bloody long way from the Mendips in Somerset. Nothing to do with the topic but I thought I'd enlighten you all.

Used to go with BASC whenever they had the Fayre back in the 80s. The CA (BFSS) used to do their 2 part poachers scenario and we played the poachers. Good fun.

Yes I can remember them well , to begin with they held the fair every two years and it was one of the best small / medium game fairs in the country , then like most of the fairs where a lot of people attend it started to get to commercial and it was then pencil in for every year, this is when it started to go downhill , after a few years of losing money it was then back to every two years , by then the damage was done and it never got back to how popular the early ones were , now they have got competition with the East Anglian at Thetford and the best local one at Sandringham.
