WalkedUp
I was worried that the poults wouldn’t arrive, £4.50 each, however they have now come and the pens are full. Our supplier has done us well. Our syndicate is based in North Wales and the supplier is in Cheshire. We shall enjoy the summer and then roll on October 👍
Walker570
Excellent. It is abgreat time of the year when poults go into the release pens. OK, lots of anxiety about their welfare but as long as all boxes have been ticket etc etc., they have to fend for themselves. Best of luck and hope they do well. WalkedUp
Yes, a great group of men. Everyone kept their cool and their humour despite some testing times.

jall25
Brill Thats the same price we paid Got ours last week Lost a dozen or so to the Buzzard but thats life Already out and about after a week in the pen - thankfully i have had a great year getting on top of foxes
WalkedUp
We lost a dozen of the ‘sparrows’ on the second day and then more the next couple of days. I spoke to the supplier for advice and he offered to have his vet dispatch and then PM a couple of ill birds, this wasn’t needed as the losses had stopped. Nonetheless the supplier gave us another 30 birds free of charge to cover any loss (despite me saying not to worry), really decent bloke and a great company to deal with. WalkedUp
Good work, as JDog said about those hawks ‘I hate what they do, but love how they do it’.
old'un
makes me wonder if the release of game birds on a small scale will be viable in a few years due to this rewilding and the massive increase of winged predators. good job foxes cant fly. I have seen a few goshawks over in Lincolshire. The feeding must be good over there and yes, they are magnificent birds just doing what goshawks do. Agriv8
You were justified in being worried WalkedUp- Just been told our shooting is off this season- supplier repriced the 600 polts from verbally agreed £4:30 to £10 a couple of weeks before delivery stating big shoots are bidding each other to buy stock. decision was made not to pay on principle and no negotiating available so if anyone knows 500-600 poults wanting a home in Yorkshire let me know. ( I know there is more chance of finding one laying a golden egg ) walked up could you U2u me your supplier details please ? All a bit depressing really Agriv8
