I have a farm I deal with the vermin on and the the deer and the grandson there has taken an oak sapling from my wood and planted it in a spot where every time hedrives up the drive he and everyone will see that oak growing in memory of his grandfather who initially developed the farm   These are great ways to remember.

:good:

It is very hard work in a dry year like this year keeping young trees going.

I was walking the other day past a few (beech trees that I was given) I planted and remembering driving up with water every few days.  I was thinking it was 1976, but it must have been a later dry year as it was soon after I bought my first LandRover - which was in 1981 or 82 I think - and was used to carry the water up.  Most survived and some of the trees are quite decent size now.

It's a fine thing that you do Steve,  and you've brought a tear to many an eye mate.

It brought a tear to my eye reading why Steve does it and as a Dad it hits home even more.

Sorry for your loss buddy and respect for what you are doing - I would have some off you but we have nowhere to plant one on our property and the council seem hell bent on destroying trees round here for the need of New Homes 😞

Thank you. Don't worry about not being able to have, and plant a tree off me. There's many people out there that can do this. I'm hoping that this year, I can get a load of Acorms, as last year was very poor.

My red chastnut has a load of nuts on again this year Steve so hope they come true to original. You can have what you want because my wood is now full.

I would be most grateful if you could send me all that you can spare. And as always, I am more than happy to cover the postage costs.

                              Thank You.
