Any news yet.?

No nothing yet from BASC I've just got back from collecting my 725 as it started failing to fire the second shot turned out to be a broken spring but he replaced both springs with the updated spring's and replaced the inertia block anyhow he has a mate who has worked for Browning for a long time and will give him the serial number to see if he can trace it back. I took the gun to show him and he's fairly confident it's a Miroku but doesn't know what model he did wonder if it may have been a custom built one from Miroku. This for me is fascinating it has been reproofed at some point evey time we answer a question another comes up all adding to the history.

I have considered asking the feo if he could trace it back to the original owner but that would only be a last resort.

I asked my local firearms department if they could help me trace my grandfather's guns, and the answer came back that they don't keep what would otherwise be known as legacy systems. So if its of any age, its unlikely they could help - unless I have been 'misinformed' by them.

Very sad, as would have loved to have traced my grandfather's Churchill and known exactly what type of semi automatic pistol he kept in the tin next to his bed...

I've returned the gun because of the 72 hour rule and a deal has been done and he is giving me his other gun so I ended up with 2 two gun's 400 odd cartridges and the gun cabinet for next to nothing as he just wanted them gone just one previso would I take him clay shooting once or twice if he is up to it.

To be fair with the cost of cartridges and clays, that could end up costing a fortune ;)

That's a really lovely arrangement by the way, and he can still love his guns when he wants! :)

From the picture it is a T111 (S) but this one had the top rib removed and the stock altered for the original owner.

Is that a step where I have put an arrow? As the picture of the T lll S as none.

It looks like an aftermarket customisation to me . Action filed, re shaped and engraved as well as total rework of the woodwork.probably re proofed at that point .Looks like a basic 800 used to start. Just the same as process as all of the custom B25 Brownings that start life as A1 Grade. Hth.

Looking at the step that creates the side panels and the way the quarter round barrel flanges  (I don’t know if that is the correct word to describe them) have been partially flattened to meet the reshaped action and the work done to the fore end iron and wood, I am fairly sure this is not a stand alone model on special order but an 800 or later model, recreated by Miroke themselves or by a compentent gunsmith. I have seen similar ‘upgrade’ work done to Browning 325 models.
