Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I honestly don't know what you are doing wrong to get all that space under your comment.

I have just edited your post by placing the cursor at the bottom of the page and back spacing until i get to your writing.

Are you by any chance typing your message and then hitting the return a couple of times like you would for facebook etc?

I don't do facebook so unsure what you mean. Also currently unable to quote in answer to posts or backspace either.

Mine has started doing this now on my phone, it seems to have been after a software update.

Seemed to be worse when quoting someone else.

I've turned off all the app in the suggested text corrections in the keyboard settings. So far it seems to have worked.

Samsung phone, samsung keyboard.

This is what I did and it seems to have stopped it.

On the keyboard, click on the cog icon to enter the keyboard settings.

Then click on the Suggest text corrections  tab

Then click on the Manage apps tab, I tried turning it off but it just turns itself back on.

The I turned off all the apps

 

Hopefully it works for you as well.

I tried but i have no settings on keyboard, went into keyboard settings bia main settings and now not allowed to alter any Samsung keyboard settings, all permissions denied to me.

I found a keyboard reset and used that, it appears a temporary fix but has now denied me: spell check, auto text, emojis or any other feature that i may have had but been unaware of.

At least im part way there, but no cure for fat finger syndrome on this tiny keyboard

Unfortunately its a samsung phone fault and doesn't allow you to quote another post.

if you are replying to someone just use the @username
