Robden
Anyone eat them? If so, how are they cooked?

Yes braised, fried, roasted, slow cooked - Google for details. Good flavour but a b####r to skin.

samboy
Hi gang. Although i've shot a few over the years i have never eaten one. No real reason except i've heard they are hard to skin and wonder if it is worth the effort. What do you think chaps ?. Thanks all.

GingerCat
I shot a big one a few years ago and it was hard work getting the skin off, so hard I threw it in the bushes and forgot about eating them. Could have skinned a deer easily in the time I wasted with it. Just would not come off.
pigeon controller
Some years ago I was requested by my pigeon buyer to supply some squirrels as he had an order from an American Base . I was informed to skin them while still warm as it is easier. They are weird when skinned as they have a similar muscle mass to us but with a tail. We had a chap on the estate a few years ago who got paid for three days each week to control the Squirrel's , at the time they were in demand and the Saxmundam Wild Meat company would buy them in the fur for 50p frozen , they would even come to the estate and picked them up , he would sell them around 200 at a time and they were his perk , a nice little earner and no waste involved , win , win if you ask me .
