elgreco
Hi I have just bought a Beretta 486 parallelo. I would like to remove the auto safety (I only shoot clays) is it possible to do this? Thanks Tom
Gordon R
The 486 comes with auto or manual safety so it should be simple enough for a gunsmith to remove the auto safety.
Old Boggy
Very nice gun and good to hear of someone using a side by side for clays. I’m guessing more for enjoyment than competitiveness. Well done. OB
wymberley
If you have it done for you, just make sure that they give you the bits (possibly just the one, a rod twixt top lever and safety catch) in case you finally sell it. Nice!
HantsRob
I need to wait a few years for these to devalue, I'd happily replace my SXS with one of these ❤️❤️

I'm told they are made, but not seen one for sale. I have seen one with a straight hand - but still had a single trigger.

I struggle with double triggers as it changes the LOP so much that I miss clays because of it. So I am very ok with that. I do agree the look of a straight stock does make it look more beautiful. There are a few straight stock ones on guntrader, just no double triggers.

That’s why I was in awe of the Browning O/U for sale recently snapped up by Tightchoke. Straight hand stock and double triggers. Superb. My holy grail would be the same in 16 bore.Sorry to derail the original thread somewhat. OB

Have always been a SbS man until I found a gun with all of the advantages including the weight of such plus the one major one of an OU. OK, I appreciate it won't suit everyone - what gun will - but I only shoot 1oz.
wymberley
And then, damn me, if I didn't find another one for 25g on a bad arthritis day. Edited August 16 by wymberley

I do like the fact that they both have rounded fore-ends and not Schnabel type
TIGHTCHOKE
The Chapuis is lovely and I have a Beretta like that and now my Browning,
JohnfromUK
I have two Merkels with straight hand and double triggers.

I had to over expose the photo somewhat as I purposely chose dark wood (hide use) otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the grain. Anyone noticing the bits at the front of the fore-end if the image is magnified - they've gone, it was pollen. Yep, again, Beretta S56E 12 minutes ago, TIGHTCHOKE said: The Chapuis is lovely and I have a Beretta like that and now my Browning, Cheers. My Browning Black Gold is up for grabs in UKGR. Had it in 20 bore flavour with single trigger and pistol grip for when the arthritis was bad. No need for a canon now as things have eased. grahamch
Have gone the other way, just got a Browning XS Pro sporter and had it converted to auto safe. Cant bide manual safes after game shooting for 40 years plus. Other than my Maxus auto which l only used for fowling my only other manual safe gun was a Winchester 101 LW which was a great gun but was shot loose using too many heavies on the shore and disposed of. I'm the same - I have had two guns (both Merkels) converted to auto - as moving the safety is part of gun mount for me and if I don't do it - it just doesn't feel quite right. My perfect gun would therefore be one of those in 16 bore with a solid top rib.
