Vince Green
Many years ago I actually went to the Trade Union Conference. I was disgusted with what I saw and heard As you said so much class hatred and venom. Back then a lot of them still believed they were actively working to bring about the revolution . oldypigeonpopper
Hello, When i was in the Engineering/Welding trade on 1 job you had to be in a Union, closed shop, Then I changed to the Boilermakers, Working on Didcot Power Station there were some die hard unionists, I have seen some ugly moments with the latter,
Dave-G
I got escorted off a hospital building site for refusing to join a union when I was a lot younger. The electrical firm I had just started working for subsequently had me delivering control panel units to factories because they knew I'd not turn back from picket lines at the gates. He had mistakenly failed to look behind him where our Alsation was. When the dog nosed him in the crotch he soon went. 😄 19 hours ago, ditchman said: Thatcher paid off and stamped on the unions....their members quite happily bought into capatalism...shares in water companies ..gas...electric.....profiteering on council house sell offs..etc......... thats all in the past now......the unions are going to rise and control TOTALLY the labour party...and it will be impossible to control them now ...as alll the family silver has been sold off......... i hate to think what will happen.....they are going to reward their members and totally break this country to pay for it..................people with money WATCH OUT......they will come for you to help balance the budgets..........Ruuuuunnnnnnnnnnnn for it Pray where too? Yellow Bear
It is becoming obvious that the MSM seem to be ignoring the TUC - foil hat on -- could it be they don't want us to realise what we know is being said?

The problem for us is that they think those of us who worked our nuts off to buy our own homes and put a few quid away for our old age are the rich ones . Weihrauch17
According to Starmer's speech today anyone opposed to the Public Sector pay rises is living in the eighties, I think he will find that is him. He is firmly in the Trade Unions pocket, no doubt at all of that.

And no apologies to those, still stuck in the 1980s who believe that unions and business can only stand at odds, leaving working people stuck in the middle. Who cannot see that this country needs a new path on growth.

Plain as day what he meant to me, he is doing a great job of alienating the nation against him (except for you of course).

old man
What it needs is common sense and balanced restraint, none of which have ever been seemed to be important here? Boom and bust?
