Lloyd90
Anyone ever cut down a shotgun stock so it fits a junior, but managed to keep the off cut and make it so it can be re-attached / removed to swap between junior and adult length stocks? TIGHTCHOKE
Yes, .410" Bolt Action Webley and Scott for my eldest son, he is now 27. What do you want to know?
Gordon R
I did it years ago with a 410. It won't fit back exactly without some work as the width of the saw cut dictates that the re-fit won't be perfect.
ditchman
wrap the stock withtape so it dosnt split out.........use a thin saw blade ..either band saw or thin circular saw....(very sharp)

I have bought an AYA 20 bore for use rough shooting but also want my nephew and in many years daughter to hopefully be able to use it … would be handy if I could add / take off a LOP spacer type of thing to make it shorter or longer if that’s not too difficult to sort out. oldypigeonpopper
Hello, Rather than cutting down the stock fitted you could try finding a second hand stock to reduce the LOP depending on AYA Model , That way you will have a Junior and Adult stock ?? RCB56
When I did my one for my sons, a single barrelled 410. I drilled down the length of the stock two 1/4" holes beyond the cut line so it could be pegged when put back together. By the way my eldest son is now 44. Doesn't time fly. Cover the stock in masking tape Work out how many sections, I suggest about 12mm each, that you want to take off. Drill two holes from the base of the stock through to the inner most cut. Cut from the butt pad end, it is easier to take separate slices off rather than all of it and then have to cut that up. The tape should hold the edges of the wood. Get some fine glass paper and tidy up the cuts. With two long screws you should be able to reconstruct the whole stock. With shorter screws you can shorten your newly adjustable stock. team tractor
I cut the .410 down and refinished it . I found having another daughter 10 years later helped 😂😂😂. Then another son . it’ll never match up as said . They just stand out like a sore thumb . wabbit bosher is bound to have a spare stock surely ?? claydodger
I bought a Webley 410 that had been cut down for a junior and as it didn't come with the cut off piece I found an old shotgon stock and fitted it. It's not pretty but good enough for the old Webley and it worked.

enfieldspares
Drill the holes BEFORE you cut the stock. That way the holes will be in perfect alignment.
Lloyd90
Just a quick update: We got a chop saw out last week and straightened off the end of the current stock. We bought a pair of kick-eez pads, one for me and one for the nephew. We then fitted both pads and ground them down to get a good fit. Gun measure 13 3/4 with the short pad and 14 1/2 with the longer one. I shot on my little syndicate on the weekend and took 7 pheasants for 15 shots Gun is unloaded on the below pic (obviously).
