TIGHTCHOKE
I see nothing wrong with that and it has reminded me to get some chips and use up some of my scampi.
JKD
Definitely nothing wrong with that 👌 except for me,,,,, omit the 'green stuff' ! 😆😂
7daysinaweek
Looks grand that. I love scampi. In my opinion, you have past 'THE' most important test for anyone who cooks scampi. You have more than 10 pieces on the plate, nothing more disappointing than seven or eight pieces. 👍 Whats the stuff on the mushy peas? Looks like balsamic glaze? Scully
My favourite pub grub is scampi, chips and mushy peas. We have no microwave, deep fat fryer nor air fryer, so if it’s pub grub then the above it is. 👍

Never making it to the batter then. I do the same when I make prawn cocktail, most the prawns don't make it to the dish.

marsh man
Overall you got a very good feedback and rightly so as most of us would eat just about everything on the plate , some of the cheaper Scampi is like eating lumps of batter and virtually tasteless , I have had the so called better ones like Youngers and M + S and eating it now and again is enough for me , no doubt a lot of it is the cooking of it rather the contents in the bag . And talking of bread and butter, a thick slice would go great with @ditchman meal.

Now there is something I have not had in years, my father was a Geordie and he used to make it occasionally when we were nippers. No mint sauce, and like Welsh says, just on thick bread with salt and pepper. Brings back some good memories.

Pease pudding is with salt, no mint sauce…. Lovely with beetroot in a sandwich or with ham in a stottie. As an aside, when I was in hospital being divorced from my leg I had yellow split pea soup for the first time, (basically runny pease pudding), divine. And a late friend of mines wife used to make pie casings out of pease pudding. (Not that I ever got to try them) 😩
