well apologies if it dosnt look coulourful and wonderful...just the nature of the beast

what i will say is....that it was the tastiest broth/stew that i have ever eaten.....it needed some crusty bread with it....but for the next week or so i am leaving bread out of my diet as it has made things difficult for me..

this stew/broth did not contain any spices or herbs apart from a sprinkling of Maldon sea salt and a twist of black pepper

this is pure rocket fuel and is sitting very nicely in my tummy

It looks a very hearty meal, just what you need in this weather, as you say, it could do with some crusty bread….beware...there is someone looking to take your crown. :)

Now , Now , I am keeping a close eye on things from the background , just been to M + S and stocked up with provisions and now going to take my dog out before it get dark , will tell you how nice it look when I find my glasses , they might even be in the slow cooker which is on at the moment doing some kidneys for the dog , mind you if they look nice I might even try a couple myself 😋

I have just weighed your stew up Simon from different angles and the verdict is , more than enough colour and would suit just about everyone , you cannot go wrong with a meal like that inside you after you have been out in the Winters fresh air , this coming week I might get a fresh pack of casserole mix and some some nice bits of stewing steak , as we are getting near the happy hour I will call it ,    Rindfleischeintopf  , and no this isn't how the ole folk on the Acle marshes talk , the first one to get the name right can come to mine and get fed and water'd with the creation , and no it isn't the boggy prize

Ditchy that looks superb!

Good size chunks, non of that small business.

It looks to be a similar take to 'Scouse' the national dish of Liverpool, thought to be derived form the term 'Lobscouse' which was a stew which was traditionally made by european sailors. As Liverpool was one of the busiest 18th century sea ports , it became a common local dish.

I put Beef Stew first but reading the "proper word from an EU country threw me as the UK is no longer a EU country so Goulash seemed more likely than Beef Stew which is an English (non EU) country? Is there a consolation prize for over thinking the question? 😀.

Oh what a shame bruno , you would had been right on the border line in the time frame set to had got the first prize, which was a all expenses paid 150 bird day on a prestige East Anglian estate , lunch and drinks provided , note this was for a beater and not as a gun :drinks:
