My first visit to a race track in over 60 years - Silverstone 1961 - and thoroughly enjoyed what turned out to be an all too short day - fog. Still, we watched the guy who who we went to support win.

Yes, we do for people who regularly fail to post what they actually meant.

A nice track but not much fun on a sidecar outfit, over the back wheel for most of the lap of the old circuit with just the left hander at Devils Elbow to hang out of the chair. A big engine helped because most of the track is flat out, we only had a 720 Morgo Triumph. Did anyone see Owen Greenwood in his Mini special there ? That was a sight !!

Used to go to Mallory during the late ‘60’s. Saw Hailwood and Agostini race there. Vaguely seem to remember seeing Owen Greenwood racing. A mate had an Owen Greenwoid tuned Bonneville engine in his Triton. Some low-life pinched it!

I was a regular visitor in the late sixties, went to several “Race of the Years” but could only afford the badge one year.

Mallory is where folks buy a house then complain about noise

same as townies who complain about cocks crowing, church bells and nearby pig farms

Wonderful race track spent many happy weekends there

I once had a chat with John Cooper there, in the clubhouse cafe and what a down to earth chap he was. I'd seen him race his Seely G50 Matchless but he had recently switched to the Yamsel ( 352 Yamaha in a Seely frame) and was demolishing the 500 class and many followed his example. Later I was there when he beat Ago's MV Augusta GP bike on the three cylinder BSA 750. "Mooneyes" Cooper was a hard man to beat in the UK and America at that time.
