TIGHTCHOKE
Surely a Fire person knows what they are about? And the Head of the Fire Service should be able to work out what his staffs priorities should be? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd757pvg3ddo
Gordon R
They should not need others to tell them how to do their job, but how did options four and five ever get on the list? Complete joke.

ph5172
Thing is the fire brigade became to good at preventing fires through years of changing habits, fire safety awareness and protection. in the current climate where everyone expects a return for their pennies what better way to do that than ask the people that pay. That way they can’t moan about what they do and don’t get.
JohnfromUK
It is usually a 'backside covering exercise. If (when?) what's implemented goes seriously wrong - there is a nice convenient survey to PROVE; You consulted widely You took all views into account You implemented what people most wanted it's not your fault it all went pear shaped - you followed the survey results If you manage the 'story' right, however badly the outcome goes, you will appear in a good light and very probably get a minor mention in an honours list one day. Of course questions should be asked 👍 It's when people say "They should be doing this/that/the other" instead of maybe "could be doing those things" ?
