If so you will need it gone before your cert runs out. Or you'll need to get it to an RFD. Either sold to them or a commission sale, before expiry of your cert. Failing that can you store it with a friend with a cert until sold, you would need to transfer it to them. Handing it over for scraping is another option. As is giving it away Edited February 17 by Newbie to this

oldypigeonpopper
Hello, When I gave up my FAC i put the CZ Rifle into a local RFD until the now new owner gained his own FAC and although this took a few weeks the RFD did not charge 1 penny, That is what you call a good Gun Shop and my now go to for cylinder fills etc, Being there are so many Shotguns and Rifles on sale for so little money it was gifted to a member of a Farming family,
islandgun
Police will scrap it free of charge

They may even offer to collect it. You should NOT walk into a Police station with a firearm unannounced, even in a slip! Please don't forget that it could add to a political agenda of how many guns have been surrendered, which some may take as a count of illegality rather than what it's intent is. If the gun holds value, an RFD should at a minimum rehome, and any pocket change is a bonus. That said, someone leaving the game probably doesn't care of perception, and the cop shop may be the path of least resistance.

Whilst it's from the MET, it's their advice: "If you'd like to surrender a firearm or shotgun to the police, you can call 101 or contact us online. We'll tell you the best course of action. Please do not bring your firearm to a police station unless we've asked you to. Keep the firearm secure and do not move it until instructed" https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/fi/af/firearms-licensing/sell-or-dispose-firearm/#:~:text=If you'd like to,not move it until instructed. Why does that not surprise me. However, better that the guns were used rather than scrapped, that would have been sacrilege.
