I shoot right handed but when it comes to loading i always load left handed (ie place the carts in the chamber) and carry carts in the left pocket.

Most people i see seem to shoot right and load right... or am i just seeing those that load different to me?

Hi bud I am right handed and when shooting sporting I load right hand, but on Dtl I load left handed?

Me too, seems quite normal to me.

After firing I have still got hold of the gun in my right hand after moving the top lever over with my right thumb at the same time reaching into my left pocket for more cartridges.

I feel really cack then... If I'm shooting the O/U, I load with either the left or the right depending on what side pocket has carts left in it. If I am shooting the semi, it's always right hand loading carts out of the right pocket as loading a semi with the left hand is just too cack-handed for words.

I think I'll answer right.

I'm the same, just seems natural to me.

shoot with my right hand, load with my right hand, and eject the carts into my right hand. seems safer when you think about it, as you havent got a hand anywhere near the trigger etc. and feels more comfortable for me. also i keep my carts in my right pocket.

cheers

I was taught for safety reasons that if you are right handed you should use your right hand to load/unload, this way your finger is never going to be near the trigger and vice versa if left handed.

For that reason when out shooting I always have Cartridges in my right coat/vest pocket. Also your right hand should come off the gun anyway when breaking the gun and catching the cartridges to put in the bins provided at clay grounds.

I am left-handed and use a left-handed Remington 1100 which I load with my left hand! If I loaded with my right hand, I'd drop the gun!

BUT, when I use my right-handed Winchester Model 50 (from the left shoulder), I load with the RIGHT hand.

Right handed, left eyed, load with left hand, right footed, ......................dont use either side of my brain sometimes! hehe

managed a 97 in skeet practice yezdee tho!

Guys - just do what is most comfortable and the safest - we're all different!
