Gordon R Posted April 4, 2008 Report Share Posted April 4, 2008 A friend of mine has just come back from a holiday in Scotland. He came accross these footprints and wondered what had made them. He has had dogs all his life and knows his stuff. He thought these would have to be from a fair sized animal. The cigarette lighter is 3 1/4" - placed for scale purposes. The apparent claw marks were deep and sharply made. I spoke to Mike and his wife, Kath last night. Both were adamant that the animal was (in their estimation from the prints) larger than my Akita pup, which is ten stone. Mike said something which I have not really had experience of - that the animal appeared to be following in it's own footprints - ie the back leg landed in the print from the front leg.
