Blimey, production of the BSA Meteor alone has gone over 4 million (so you must all have got one. LOL) That's a lot of voters who, come a general election, might just vote with their hearts, if Gordon Brown suggests a ban rather than some tighter regulation. I just hope he realizes that he's too unpopular at the moment to risk p-ssing off any more of the electorate than he already has. It was easier to ban handguns, which had to be licensed, so they knew where all the legally held one's were. Air rifles where my introduction to the sport and I use my RWS regularly.I will pay for licensing if its asked of me and won't make any complaints. The amount of "bad press" that all shooters in the UK get due to irresponsible airgun use is rising all the time. The anti gun lobby couldn't tar us all with the same brush if we take away their ammunition from source. (No pun intended) Anyone with a genuine reason for wanting one needn't worry. It would (presumably) be a fairly simple procedure and may even result in licence holders being able to get 12ftlb+ rifles without the need for a full FAC. If the cost would put you off then you really aren't that commited to shooting. As for assinine comments like "They'll licence cars next. They kill people too!" HELLO?! Driving licence? Road Tax? jerico Posted May 26, 2008 Report Share Posted May 26, 2008 Banning pistols stopped people being shot with them so licensing air rifles & pistols must be a good idea, not only will it reduce crime but imagine the fun that could be had waiting for the postman to find out in the local police are for or against the use, proving that you need one, being told how many you can have and then have variations put in like the FAC holders.
